Hardware O3DS Blue Light & Pop Sound

Got a O3DS that doesn't power up.

I'm pretty sure some anti-bacterial cleaner has leaked through and caused some water damage. At first there was no blue light and after a few hours it started to get a blue light followed by a pop sound. Now I have opened the console up and the water damage sticker on top of the battery pins has gone pink however the one by the SD card slot is fine and so is the one on the back casing where you insert the battery.

Here is what I know after troubleshooting;

1) The battery is fine.
2) The top half of the console [top screen, speakers, etc] are fine as I put in the mobo of another 3DS and it worked.
3) There also doesn't seem to be any physical damage on the mobo that I can see.

As far as the water damage goes it would of been cleaner creeping through and it hasn't be submerged in liquid. If anyone has any clues or can push me in the right direction the help would be appreciated.

Something is shorted on the mobo. I have a few 3DSs with shorts.

The only thing I can say is if it's salvageable you're going to need some technical skill to salvage it.

Would cleaning the whole mobo with isopropyl alcohol be a possible solution?

Getting rid of the water may have solved your issue before you tuned it on, but now you have more issues. The water that was present created a short circuit and provided too much voltage to some component(s) on the mobo. (This is why it's advised to dry electronics completely before turning them on - as you can create permanent damage).

You would most likely have to replace actual parts on the mobo at this point.

I also had a similar thing on my nds lite and it was a blown F2 fuse, so use a multimeter and check all fuses:

And after I replaced it the console still works to today.

Thinking about it the battery terminal [which has the pink water damage sticker on it] is right next to one of the fuses.

Anyone else have any other ideas encase these are not the solutions?
