I can help with that, or do something. Some things that help are writing down or taking snapshots of the error/code dump screen and then going to GitHub and report what you did to get to that state,
what cores you loaded and how many times you changed cores, etc.
Alright, writing that idea down. Nearly every time i've crashed it had an error i could record so that's something.

I've been using rom center to to organize and rename my rom files to correct naming.

Is there a way to check if the roms are clean dumps similar like what I can do with gamecube iso checking the md5. I got the NO-Intro versions but I don't know if someone messed with them and if they are clean or not. The name No intro isn't really reliable.

Snes9x on PC usually indicates if a ROM is clean, one commonality is having the [!] and the SFC format, as opposed to SMC or FIG. The text is white and has checksum: OK is a good indicator too. I believe SFC is headerless and SMC is headered.

Every little bit helps.

We need programmers mainly, testing is all well and good but if there's nobody to look after the WiiU port then it doesn't do much good.

Good point, the thing is, who do we know? Quark, Fix94, and a few others do work on Wii U side of things, they may know some people. There has to be a way.

Aliaspider is not coming back at least, and I've asked enough times if he would come back, I get systematically ignored and other people in the mix refuse to negotiate a truce, so I think that is a lost cause at this point. So we need to move forward and be able to do either do it ourselves or find some other guy. And we have a lot already on our plate with all the other ports.

Hopefully @rioray would be interested.

That...freaking sucks, man, I still feel bad and wished there was more I can do :( Would a Bounty Source be a potential outlet to rally more support? Makes me want to know what the hell the other programmers' beef is with you guys.

It's a lot of drama over little things and over nothing, and it's honestly a lot of nerd shit over nothing to be frank. I'm fed up and tired of having to deal with it and of having people behind my back continue to sell these boxes as well, while receiving exactly zero help on our own code. Everybody parasitizes off us and that is all fine and well but they don't see all the good things I want to do, or the support I provide, etc. The world world feels aggrieved and salty but I just need to put up with all the crap all the time.

Anyways, I'd be willing to fund the person yes if he is capable of fixing these issues. It might be a one-off thing or a little something monthly, I am not exactly loaded here but I am willing at least to keep the ports alive. I have for instance arranged with another guy to have him send me an Xbox 360 so we can fix that port again. Point is, I care about this stuff, I care about keeping it alive. If people want to pick petty fights over silly stupid stuff, that is unfortunate, but my heart here is in the right place, and often enough I put my wallet where my mouth is as well when it comes to these things. Which is more than can be said for most people.

We just ended a 7+ year beef with byuu for instance, I fixed relations with other guys like Alcaro, etc. I am fully willing to pour some water with the wine so we can fix past relationships that went sour, as long as people can remain reasonable, I can be reasonable.

yeesh. always gotta be drama that causes the issues huh. wish i was a programmer but i'm just a 3d modeler.

And that is fair enough, parasites will be parasites, and that does suck. I don't want to see this die, I want to do my part to keep it alive, even if it means learning to program, but that may take quite a while, I don't know. Once I get my job back, I can pitch in whatever funds I can, report bugs, test builds, whatever it takes. I want to do my part to help out.

Would console donations help in this matter? Or is it mainly programming leads for specific ports?

We need a programmer who wants to look into it. If those donations help to bring that programmer along and to make him feel motivated, all fine and well, but that guy needs to 1) be there, and 2) be able to actually do it.

Maybe a bounty, I dunno.

Also, you guys need to be explicit with what the issues exactly are, what needs to be fixed, etc. So that the programmer knows exactly what needs fixing. And it shouldn't be a continuous moving target either.

Quark did some modifications on the Wii U side so that when the cores crash, we get a more detailed output as to what happened during said crash.
Perhaps taking pictures and explaining what triggered the crash would help for this.

Ah, so that's what Quark did, yes, the error codes would specify more info, and yes I agree, the details of the crash and how they occurred will help.

@Radius4 Ok but when I built wiiu retroarch , i never see any occurrence of " -DHAVE_KEYMAPPER" in the gcc args.
even if i put a #warning under a #ifdef HAVE_KEYMAPPER block it never showup.

anyways in https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/blob/master/Makefile.common#L1485

ifeq ($(HAVE_KEYMAPPER), 1)
OBJ += input/input_mapper.o
endif

it never define DEFINES += -DHAVE_KEYMAPPER like other option.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think -DHAVE_KEYMAPPER is defined for wiiU.

maybe someone could try to add something like:

CFLAGS += -DHAVE_MAIN -DHAVE_KEYMAPPER

at https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/blob/master/Makefile.wiiu#L152

and build dosbox core to see if keymapper option show up as it should , i can't access wiiU for now to test .

@LibretroRetroArc I will try to help if can (but @QuarkTheAwesome has far more knowledge of the wiiu system than me)
i will try when i have some time to look at deeper in the wiiU retroarch side. but debugging on this system is very time consuming.
it's not as easy than the PC or Android side (like Radius4 said before) and i'm always on 5.5.1 with browserhax (so not a big deal to debug)

From my point of view the main issues are:
The random Memory Errors/DSi Errors (probably the main problem tbh)
The lack of filters/overlays (I see alot of people ask for this)
The few bugs in the XMB GUI (Onscreen Keyboard not working, ability to change Theme Colours) minor things really but adds to the unfinished feel..
...and Touch Support :P (should be in there, the WiiU has it so why not utilise it) :)

Ok I moved it outside the conditional block that may work

I think that the primary goal would be to neutralize the stability bugs first and foremost, once stability is achieved, low-priority features can be implemented, like filters and overlays. Stability is slightly more important methinks :P But, it will be quite time consuming, gonna snap crash reports on my phone :D

Well I suppose you can take my list in order of priority then :P
