Excellent! I wonder if the first release will basically be a tweaked version of 2.17d. Personally, I hope for a version that excludes RetroArch or addons entirely and just a custom core that allows additional ROMs, nothing else.
RA is optional of course but I agree that RA seems somewhat pointless now, since I only had SNES and NES games on my NES Mini. I will only run NES roms on my NES Mini through kachikachi and I will add a few more SNES games on the SNES Mini using the default emulator.

If in appearance it is the same.
The capacity also according to comment ... 300MB !!!
Except that it has two controls and the casing of snes, the games of snes and the exclusive of starfox 2 .... There really are some changes in the technical specifications???

Nes mini:

SoC: Allwinner R16 (4x Cortex A7, Mali400MP2 GPU)
• RAM: Hynix (256MB DDR3)
• Flash: Spansion 512MB SLC NAND flash, TSOP48
• PMU: AXP223

Snes mini:

SoC: ?
• RAM: ?
• Flash: ?
• PMU: AXP223
Help for potential buyers please!!!!

When you going ad mame core to play donkeykong 2 jumpman hack and yoshi snes runs sloppy slow when you get to underground stages don't hack your snes it make your games run sloppy slow unless you get two of them.

Pictures (on the right) taken from original SNES Mini teardown video posted few hours ago here:
On the left we have NES Mini chips (pictures taken from another video but i cannot find the link right now).

Here they are the PCB differences:

The hardware seems to be almost the same so, if you can gain root access to the system everything done for NES Mini can be used for SNES Mini i suppose (@Cluster).

Original info link: https://www.reboot.ms/forum/threads/snes-mini-teardown.6513/

EDIT:
If you look at bakueikozo old NES Mini pictures:

You can see that the "test pads" on the right (the ones with wires) seems to be removed from the PCB in SNES Mini.

What is the message please? Thanks. Rgs.

The message is: the SoC is the same, NAND and RAM are the same so if you can gain root access (I hope it will be easy) everything already developed for NES Mini can be applied to SNES Mini.

Speculation: reomoved test pads suggest me that something may have changed in firmware/software so i suppose another way around must be found in order to gain root access (hope I am wrong).

Thanks a lot. Strange message from Big N who is always against hacking. Rgs.

I prefer to run NES ROMS on NES CLASSIC MINI only. Why bother with other emulators not related to NES CLASSIC MINI ? LOL!

Maybe they're on the other side of the board

Because other official Snes emulation is pretty bad, this is the first time official Snes emulation hasn't sucked and supports Super FX emulation *shrug*.

when it is the same hardware would it be possible to put the games from the mini nes on the mini snes ?

I understand but this NES Classic Mini console itself make sense relating to NES games only so I will stick with NES Classic Mini roms and nothing else. The same for SNES Classic MINI to SNES roms ONLY.:)

Yeah, my only fear is brick risk (not sure how likely it is compared to other hacked consoles), Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 2, Kirby's Dream Land 3, and maybe Seiken Densetsu 3 (since the console emulates that pseudo hi res mode 7) :P
