2) I DO format to Wii U prompt, and install the WAD. Then, I start the channel, and it opens Nintendont in vWii, where it states Nintendont cannot access my USB.
if you go with the non-autoboot variant, select SD from this point and choose the first option (boot internal game), nintendont does not know that its actually loading from USB since the wii vc provides the game as a regular wii disc (thats how wii games work in the first place) so nintendont will treat it like a disc instead of a storage device like SD or USB.

Yes, I have used the injector script to create a channel for Path of Radiance, everythings there properly, and I have an empty USB. But 1 of 2 scenarios seems immediately aware to me:

1) I do not do the Wii U Format prompt and keep it in the Fat32 state i set up via computer. When I try to install the WAD containing the game, its fails (since the USB isnt in the Wii U format)

2) I DO format to Wii U prompt, and install the WAD. Then, I start the channel, and it opens Nintendont in vWii, where it states Nintendont cannot access my USB.

To my understanding the second option is the correct way, but I am doing SOMETHING wrong that is stopping me from being able to load the game.
Not sure whats going on, maybe the usb isnt compatible, is it a hdd or thumbdrive, if its a thumbdrive, i dont think they are supported

Try putting your disk2.iso file in the TOOLS\HOMEBREWBASE\files folder before building your game as a workaround, this will include it alongside game.iso when the game is built.

Keep in mind this still may not work, but having someone test it for FIX94 will be the first step to finding out.

Edit: Make sure to remove your disk2.iso file after you build your game, otherwise it'll try to put it alongside all the GameCube games your convert.

Doesn't the script have to repackage the disc2.iso also? that wouldn't work...

Uhm, can anyone help me? when I install a game (battalion wars is the one I have been testing with) with the latest script v2.1.0 and after updating nintendont from the github page (multiple times, to be sure), the home button does not reboot anymore, now it just freezes the game, but the same game was properly rebooting before. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix my potentially obvious mistake?

I have no clue.. delete the config file?

It might not be a mistake on your end, lets see if anybody else has this problem

Well, I did this, and it didn't work, but I found a few interesting bits.

After the game freezes when I press the home button, the moment I press the power button on the console (not working from the gamepad) the wii u actually reboots as it should. Also, if i run a game from the SD card, it reboots as it should when I press the button.

I will test a few more games to see if I find anything else, but any help in the meantime would be appreciated.

Okay then I think its because you don't have the SD card inserted... or it doesn't detect the SD card when you press home

Meaning, what .dol did you use for when you made the WUP? a full independent .dol or the forwarder one?

I used the script, so the .dol should be the last one from FIX, the one that enables widescreen. I'm going to build another WUP with the 4:3 .dol and see if it's any different.

And I don't remove the SD card whenever the console is turned on, in case I need to mention it.

Hello, sorry for DOUBLE posting.... I can confirm now that DOUBLE DISC games work. I tried RE:1 and it switches discs automatically, you just have to put the "disc2.iso" in the "\WiiVC Injector Script [2.1.0]\TOOLS\HOMEBREWBASE\files" folder as is... then convert your game as usual... DONT FORGET to delete the disc2.iso from that folder when you're done... else you will be packing that disc2.iso into every GCN you make LOL.

I'm just saying because I was playing MK using the forwarder wiivc injected iso... and I took the SD card out, when I pressed home... the game froze and never went back to home menu until I pressed power button on Wii U and it rebooted...

SO make sure you have the "autoboot" dol from this page https://github.com/FIX94/nintendont-autoboot-forwarder/releases/tag/v1.1

rename to "main.dol" and put it into this directory "\WiiVC Injector Script [2.1.0]\TOOLS\HOMEBREWBASE\sys"

replace whatever is there.

I actually did it first try then eh? no immediate crashing or anything? Guess I had quite some luck then :P
Also taking out the SD while nintendont is running is a bad idea, you wont be able to save on quit, it'll also crash on quit (as it cant unmount the card) and that on the SD itself can create errors in the partition, so dont ever do that.

Lol I was testing!! All for the good sake of testing!! xDDD

EDIT:

And yes, it works flawlessly the changing discs!! :3

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It's included in the script. You can select which .dol to use now. There's autoboot and force widescreen included
Am just telling him what I did, and how it works well on my end... so he can try.

EDIT:

Wait I just realized that it freezes when I press home too!! D: THAT is with the AUTOBOOT.dol used by the script... so I guess that is a new bug.

EDIT 2: Yup, I just checked and absolutely, it freezes.. I tested another inject I made and same thing!!! D:

But if I press POWER button on Wii U it reboots immediately.

So it is a new bug then. Just to be sure, did you force those on 4:3 by any chance? I had the error in 16:9, and i'm about to test in on forced 4:3
