No... emunand itself is 1.2GB (depending on your model). You will need to backup and restore your whole SD card though to format and partition it. And you will still be able to boot your sysnand for GBA and pretty much everything else. You just want to be able to use Gateway for cheats, right? That's all you need emunand for.
