Looks like playing new games requires the update how ever I'm hoping for some emulators or something soon as the games library so far on switch is lacking all the good games are back end of this year and 2018 do I update or not as I want to try project octopath traveler

Run-on sentence aside - The Octopath demo is amazing, and I highly doubt emulators are coming in the next year or more - hackers haven't even released the information they have to allow other dev's to start coding. And as for back end of this year - we are there already. Only 3 months and 10 days left.

Golf Story hopefully this Friday, Mario Odyssey in a month, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 early December, Lost Sphere in mid January. Plenty of other games I haven't mentioned, and the eShop is already chock-full of worthy titles.

Not telling you to update, but there are plenty of reasons to do so.
