I was enjoying this emulator to play MAME and NeoGeo.
But suddenly my WiiU gamepad and Classic contoroller doesn't do anything in Retroarch's menu.
How can I fix this problem?

Hello ! So after many tries (if anyone remembered, i'm the guy who talked about genesis issues), i see another new version, so i decided to try again the genesis emulator and nope, still crashes after the first loaded rom (like i can load it one time, but after that, everything genesis gives me a "not enough memory" error)... Am i alone in this case ? I saw someone else mentioning it on the thread but this issue has never been adressed...

And yes i went from scratch and deleted everything prior to installing the new version. I used the rpx version too. and i also tried another genesis rom. I'm seriously considering giving up on retroarch, because i spend so much time figuring it out everytime and nothing works...

No such problems here.. is this limited to Genesis or do you have the same trouble with other cores? Is SNES okay? You said you tried a different rom, what about trying Master System or Game Gear roms on the same core, does that throw up the same issue? Have you tried downloading a different Genesis romset altogether? Are you on the latest nightly - have you tried the latest stable build?

Snes works fine if i use snes9x2010 , crashes with snes9x classic... The new version seems to run snes9x classic "ok" most of yhe time, but sometimes i had weird issues too like it choosing to launch my rom with something like bomber core ?? weird considering i couldnt even chose it in the options and it launch a bomberman game when it was mario all stars, i really couldnt figure out what happenned since i could only choose the snes core and in my history, it said it was launched with snes9x core...

and yeah i tried with another different dump, still the same. I did not try with master system rom though, maybe worth a try but thats megadrive games i want to play :(

EDIT : Ok, so if i refer to this thread, seems it's not related to genesis at all but just changing cores, it's normal and happening for everyone...

well, guess at least i know what's happening, that changing ccores crashes when you launch new rom and i'm done trying then. sad, i just wanted to play genesis and snes :(

So dl an earlier version? Lol

if you read my message, you would see that i said it happenned with previous versions too, lol

you can load different games from differents machines (like load snes, then load a genesis rom) without retroarch crashing ?

Interesting, seems some have the same issue than me since the tutorial on reddit says exactly (ie : "don't change core and ignore other emulators or it will crash"), weird ? Do you launch it through homewbrew or through channel ?

I don't know if i can install the channel version though since i'm using haxchi, don't you need to be on cfw ?

I have a retroarch launcher on my home menu. U can dl it on OP

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

U load haxchi then the channel. Iirc.

Optional: The unofficial RetroArch channel. For this, you'll need:
  • Haxchi, CBHC or another CFW installed. If using CBHC, make sure to read the thread carefully before installing!
  • The RetroArch Channel. Install it using WUP Installer Y MOD or WUP Installer GX2. Copy the unzipped folder 0005000010102172 to sd:/install; the app will install the "channel" in the Wii U menu.
  • You'll need to apply signature patches whenever you start your console. For CBHC users this happens automatically, while users of other methods will have to refer to their method's documentation to make this happen.

Here's is quote.

i knew you needed some kind of stuff at startup :( it would be too complicated for my family to apply some kind of signature patch everytime, hence why i was using "it the homebrew launch way". So i guess i'm back at waiting for a stable "homebrew" version then...

and chbc scares the hell out of me, maybe i'll try it, but i'm not even sure it will fix anything..

Why CBHC? Haxchi + CFW works just as well for the RA channel, it's what I use and is safe.

Isn't it a little bit risky to install cfw (brick wise) ? Maybe worth a shot, it would open so many new stuff, what did you guys install
