I've been playing a lot of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D a lot lately and you guys know how in that game you had to use the c stick a lot. Well, when I booted the game this morning, my c stick was working fine for about 3 hours and then as I was about to finish one last quest and call it a night, I noticed that I couldn't rotate the camera left and move it downwards with my c stick anymore. I can still move it upwards and rorate it right, but it seems down and left are unresponsive. I there anyway to fix it? Oh, and just to clarify, my c stick has been in fine working condition up until this point.

Edit: Okay I tried moving the c stick while my thumb is covered in a thin cloth and suprisingly, I was able to move the stick left and down with ease. My main problem now is without the cloth, I can't move the thing left or down =/

I've always had the exact problem with my 3DS as well. Nintendo did a shitty job making the c-stick capable against sweat. Unfortunately, you have to either keep using the cloth or replacing the stick with a PSP one(there are guides on YouTube for that). As long as you sweat, this will be a problem. Nintendo just doesn't care.

What's weird is that I have like 58+ hours in Xenoblade and the c stick issue only just happened today

exact same thing happened with me today. I mean if it's able to recover itself by drying off then I'm fine with it, but still.
I honestly like the way it's a nub that barely moves, but still.

Someone on YouTube glued a thin layer of cloth to their c-stick. Maybe that would work for you? Other than that there's what I did: Sew together a thumb cover out of cloth that perfectly fits your thumb. It works as expected but the issue is keeping up with the small cover, haha.
