Thanks , and you can edit the numbers with HxD , then when installing the edited gba file , set Game ID to random, and Title ID to random, do not use sleep mode, as the game uses the R and L buttons. Once you run the game the first time running Mario restart it , it will say Saved Data is corrupted and Mario will work fine. Save functions in the games work, I have tried rebooting after that and same message, but your saved games still work. Rcamp48

The same thing works for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red I am just playing it now to see if it saves .......... rcamp48

My method require you to install patched AGB_FIRM CIA into NAND memory replacing exciting one. Now... AGB_FIRM is an optional System Title that was introduced with 3.0.0 firmware update and was never included with Card updates. Which means you can't really break system by deleting it or installing corrupted AGB_FIRM, in fact you may even don't have it installed (if you using old system and only updated from game and never used update via internet). But! You may break system if you delete wrong system title in process, so I don't take any responsibility for any possible damages. If you are not comfortable with it - stop reading right here.

Basic steps for Old3DS / 3DS XL / 2DS:
1) Download '0004013800000202' title 'v3665' using 3DNUS

2) Launch 'Old3DS_AGB_FIRM_v3665_SignPatcher.exe' and apply patch to '0004013800000202.cia'

3) Try to install patched CIA from FBI:

Don't forget change destination to 'NAND' (L button), if you don't have any errors - congratulations, you're finished. If you got error, that means you need to remove previous version of AGB_FIRM before you can install patched one. Switch mode to 'Delete Title' and and destination to 'NAND' and scroll down until you find title with Title ID 0x0004013800000202:

Triple check you selected correct title and press delete, after this you should be able to install patched CIA without any errors.



After installing patched AGB_FIRM you can start using my '3DS Simple GBA Converter' program and play your favorite GBA games. Enjoy.

For New3DS process basically the same except Title ID is 0004013820000202 v4816.

Windpws Defender thinks that 2 of the files in fact all of the files except the simple converer have a virus and will not allow me to download them

Can someone link a download for the O3DS title .cia thing? I can't get it to download on mine. Everything worked fine but it sat there at "Packing CIA..." for legit 4 hours.

I downloaded the latest version of 3DNUS but I'm very confused on how to use this. Any advice?
 
Installation fine, but not working for me on Gateway Emunand 11.0 (even though I Installed to sysNAND as well). Always the black screen...
Someone mentioned somewhere that you need to have the GBA game installed on both sys&emunand. Is that true?
 
I just read that GBA games work in DSi mode... this is why it's not working on Emunand by Gateway (DSi menu already occupied by Gateway). Such a pity :(

No, they work in GBA mode :)
DS & DSi mode is completely separate, which in turn is separate from 3DS (& N3DS if you have it) modes
The latter is the only one with a real operating system, which allows for relatively easy emunand patches!

If you won't miss cheats or install-less .3ds games, why not consider switching to a free CFW?

SafeA9LH installer doesn't work on 4.5 (stuck on arm11.bin loading). I don't wanna update my sysnand for now (yes, I have backup, but it's all risky).
 
Not unfortunately. Trying to get it but everything fails. Only option I think is update to 9.2 and reformat and try again.. This is getting offtopic, but thanks for the help. (Been trying all day again)

OK I am a sorta noob. I know somethings about the hacking but not a lot. I am still on Rxtools and if possible id like to stay on them because they are simple and easy for me. I need someone to give pm email me something but I need simpler instructions for this. I am wanting to play kindgom hearts 358/2 days and I just want a way to play it again

Yea I'm on a old 3ds. The second one looks like it will work but I have a question. It says to copy boot.firm and starter.zip to the root but I already have that on the root because of rxtools should I make a second copy or wipe my sd card or what?

You already have a boot.firm file? Make a backup of the one that's already on your SD card and put the new one on your SD card and see what happens. The starter.zip should for sure be fine to extract without backing anything up.

I'll let you know how everything goes by tomorrow I still need to finish downloading files. After I update to boot9strap how do I play dsi games without a flash cart?
