ROM Hack Help - Cant play games after update

Okay, so, a friend of mine recently asked me if i could help him with his 3ds. He used to have the hacked 3ds with playable games a long time ago, but he said that one day he updated the console and then he couldnt play anymore even though he had updated many times before. But here comes the fun part. The console he gave for help has the version 4.3.0-6u which means he hasnt updated since that time.
My question is: Is it possible to do something so that he can play again his games(With the saves) and even download pokemon moon or at least recover the save from his pokemon ruby. Or does he need to update to update to 11.5 and wait for the new hacks to come out?
What is the solution you guys can think of?

I truly dont know anything about this, since my 3ds was downgraded a friend of mine, but i did check the sd and everything is still there.

Id it's on 4.3 than it's hackable. B9s via browser if I'm not mistaken

I never said it's not hackable but it sounds like the guy used gateway to have Pokémon ruby and all his other games

Oh yeah. Well he will be able to play again
And he can convert saves(assuming he has gateway)

Nah, all the files are CIA, i can tell because of the folder in his sd card. But thanks

What i need is to hack that version (4.3.0_6u) so that he can play again his games (I think thats the solution). The problem is that i dont know how to do it. Help?

Just this https://3ds.guide/ follow it choose your device and firmware and follow to the t and you will be fine

Okay guys, before risking all with my inexpert abilitys, i took the time to investigate the methods he used and recent events on the firmware comunity and here`s what happened.
Seems to be that the hack he has been using for 3 years was rxtools, the one that stopped working after 11.3. Acording to the activity log he hasnt been able to use it since july.
I read somewhere that the rxtools doesnt affect the flash card because it is all inside the sd card and that it is safer than other merhods, but i also read that my only option might be using arm9lh which i think may be very dangerours.
My question is, is there a way to get the rxtools back to its 11.2 version? or do i really have to risk by using arm9lh?

you can use b9s which you can't brick using. If you brick using and installing b9s it must be wanting to brick because it's basically impossible to brick with it. Even while installing it
