And you have a Rayman, a Paper Mario, and Mario Party on 3DS, I don't even remebered the other two games, the library is amazing, yes, but Nintendo has been selling us the same games again and again with numbers or 64/3DS/DX as suffix.

And yet the ones for 3DS are all dog shit. You can't compare them to the N64 titles.

I see you were only 7 during the glory days of the PSP, but the 3DS scene is pitiful compared to it. Ability to emulate and all that aside, PSP homebrew dwarfs 3DS homebrew because the PSP scene wasn't all about keeping stuff private, and there was just a lot more interest in the console.

Does it really matter? Both systems are good on their own ways, both have some advantages over the other and it all comes down to the library YOU want to play, if you prefer more Nintendo titles, then 3ds, if you want good PSX emulation + N64 + some Nintendo consoles, then it's PSP.

And if you really want, just get both and play, you are trying to compare something that it's subjective and user's preference, it does not matter which one is better, because both are good.

well you can play more mario kart games on the 3ds you can play super Mario kart Mario kart super circuit Mario kart ds and mario kart 7. You can also play every single main series pokemon game as of now on the 3ds.

If you want emulation/media, go with the hacked PSP. For 3DS/DS games, go with the 3DS.

As an owner of both a hacked PSP 1000 and a hacked O3DS and N3DS, do them both. You will not regret it.

Although, if you decide to hack your PSP, I might recommend an SD Card Adaptor for your memory stick slot. The official and generic Memory Sticks are way too expensive for a 32GB. While a 32GB microSD is much less expensive. I highly doubt you'll need anything higher than that size.

I have about 40 PSP games, 3 PS1 games, about 700 games for NES, SNES, GB/C/A, and 680 VGM songs on my microSD Card. I still have about 9.5 GB left to fill it up with.

And when you do decide to hack it, be on the lookout for horribly outdated information. It's everywhere, unfortunately, even on GBATemp. Thankfully, the good info is not that hard to find.

Now, as for your 3DS, go here: http://3ds.guide and get started! Follow it to the letter, and you'll be done in no time. Unless, your 3DS is on firmware 11.5, in which case you're stuck if you can't do NTRBootHax.

I also noticed that you didn't tell us what models your PSP and 3DS were, or what firmware they're on.

The 3DS is better at emulation though. You can barely play SNES on the PSP. Most games are unplayable.

As someone who has both, do not recommend the PSP for emulation. The 3DS easily trashes it. Annnnd the game library is just personal preference. I like my N2DS wayyy more than my PSP.

They seem to have a sort of advantage over the other.

The psp can run ps1 games on the go including all the nes,snes,ms,genisis,gb,gbc,gba through emulation and mabe some n64 in the mix,the psp also has a great 1st party and 3rd party library (even more third party if you have a hacked vita).Overall the psp has a better emulator number advantage but it kind of lacks in first party since the vita failed to bring any first party to the table and focused more on 3rd party,it also doesn't help that you have to hack the vita to have bc with psp iso's or buy a limited amount through the ps store.

Now the 3ds is pretty interesting.Not only does the 3ds have tons of first party by itself unlike the vita,but it has bc right off the bat with ds games which adds even more first party to the table.Getting a flash card with bs9 just sweetens the deal.The 3ds also has nes,snes,ms,genisis and gba games just like the psp except you can inject the roms to run natively on the system which runs at a solid 30 at all times.You see the psp may have a better way of running ps1 games but the 3ds can run all the other classic games natively so the 3ds wins in terms of stability (but there is never enough stability on the 3ds in nintendos eyes) and more first party then the psp because of the vitas lack of first party.

Uhmm wtf? gbc runs perfectly including save state and ability to speed up game with up to 200%.. The same goes for gba. It plays decently n64 roms ? Even 3ds cant run them lol... did i mention snes and Mame ?

3DS is TRASH in homebrew! During psp scene era everyone developed for it and nothing was kept secret...

if i had a gun pulled to my head i'd have to say 3DS, mostly New 3DS. The PSP was nice for it's time but it's silly to think it didn't have any glaring short-comings (yes it would emulate PS1 much better but come on, no second analog or extra shoulder buttons?? kind of a dealbreaker for me :/ )

plus snes emulations wasn't all that great on PSP, it was a speedhack-ridden mess and you could never get Super Mario RPG or any of the Super FX games to run decently, i will admit GBA emulation was really good and the 3DS has only just now caught up if we aren't counting VC-injections

Um, that's if you have a New 3DS. I could never get SNES games running without framedrops on my 2DS.

I didn't ever test it extensively, but Snes9xTYL (I think that's the name) played stuff rather decently, including Super FX games. I've only ever liked to play a handful of SNES games, though, so like I said I never tested a lot with it.

Custom gui? Well we got ourselves nice custom themes...

Games - that's debatable, depends on the kind of game you like

We got bootntr so you can kind of display your games on a pc

Video playback - not debatable, psp wins

Same goes for music... I think

Emulation - Ummm PS1 on the PSP isn't emulation but I think 3ds and psp are pretty much on-par

PSP has a 1 bigger screen but 3DS has 2 screens

But again why not both? Both are good

Uhh, do you have a PSP? It lags playing the SNES Super Mario All-Stars and GBA Yoshi's Island. The Genesis emulator has performance issues in some (A lot) games so you have to use the fast renderer which is ass. N64? Please don't even joke. It can only run a handful of games full speed and that's without any sound.

EDIT: The 3DS can run all these just fine minus N64 (without lag) including mame. Sooooo.....
