Um, I successfully randomized X (kinda) but the game crashes when I start the trainer battle after learning how to catch a pokemon. Shauna worked, and wild encounters work, but this trainer didn't, it crashed my game. I tried it with random trainer classes, and without, it didn't work either way. Please help. I can try to provide information on the specifics as best I can, but I'm new to randomizing Pokemon and CFW in general.

there was an update available, but no. And I don't know how to update with cfw, since I need to update to use the eShop.

I just said I can't. If I update, I lose my cfw, and that's how I randomized Pokemon X in the first place.

Hum

I'm talking about updating the game, not your 3DS

I have luma installed, but as I said in the original post, I'm new to CFW, so idk if the cfw is luma or what luma is. I installed luma3ds, and I have boot9strap, but my 3ds is an old 3ds xl on version 11.0

Good, you have boot9strap. And as I said before, you WILL NOT lose your CFW (which is Luma3DS) if you update your system, so you are safe to update your console and update your game.

Also, I honestly believe you should re-randomize your game using clean files and try that first before you update your game, just in case.

I've re-randomized my game several times. It's safe to go from version 11.0.0-24U to 11.5 without losing my cfw? How do I update safely? Just through the system settings?

I think I have godmode9 and not boot9strap. unless boot.3dsx and boot.firm are boot9strap (they're in the root of my sd card) in which case I have both.

*facepalm* FOR THE LAST TIME: YES IT IS SAFE!! YOU WILL NOT LOSE YOUR CFW!! Yes, you update through system settings but make a NAND backup with GodMode9 first. boot.firm is what shows you have boot9strap, boot.3dsx is for the Homebrew Launcher. As for your game, I have no clue. I refuse to work with someone who cannot get it into their head that it's safe to update their system with boot9strap after I've already told them it's safe multiple times.

no need to be rude, cunt. I was just trying to make sure it was safe.

I'm not trying to be rude, asshole. If someone tells you it's safe to update with your setup, please understand it's safe to update with your setup. If it wasn't safe, I would've told you it wasn't safe.

Update your version of GodMode9 and follow the instructions of the "Creating a NAND backup" section of this page.

I did the updating and backing up, I figured it out for myself. Randomizing Pokemon X with an updated file right now. Even though you were an arrogant cunt, if this works, thanks.

So, it didn't work. I updated my 3ds (which still had cfw, thank god) and my Pokemon X game. I followed the randomization instructions, which required me to delete the update data, which I did. When I went to battle the first trainer before the forest, my game crashed. I went to update my randomized digital copy of the game, and the game loaded, unrandomized. So, @KunoichiZ you literally have done nothing for me so far except waste my time. If you have any real knowledge and would like to ACTUALLY HELP, that would be appreciated. Until then, thanks for nothing.
