Why are you even defending him? He didn't ask for using these assets, didn't credit their creators and put his name on the hack, how is he not stealing the assets?

This actually is wrong. This hacks are provided as patches not as prepatched ROMs. If you create something as complex as own new tracks and that even with some new models used on this tracks you hold legal rights on that content you created, but I think no ROM hacker ever would care enough to take legal actions agains you (despite the fact that he first has to find out who the person is who used his content without permission)

I know you love playing devils advocate to look like a complete dumbass as often as possible, but you really should pick your battles better.

If you take other peoples work, and repack it without giving any credit whatsoever to any of those people, you are stealing their work and claiming it as your own. All he has to do is simply state "I didn't make any of this, I just packed it together" and give proper credits and bam, it's not anywhere near as scummy. Realistically he should ASK before doing this, but regardless. It's still nowhere near as scummy as simply taking things and slapping your name on it for all of the credit.

Just because he didn't explicitly state he made this content, doesn't mean fuck all. He's still calling it 'his' romhack, with his name all over it, and no credit to anyone else. That is trashy and you're beyond ignorant if you actually think it's perfectly fine to not credit creators for their work you are using. Especially when basically none of it IS yours.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but most people are going to assume he made this stuff, because that's how logic seems to work.

You clearly don't know how it feels to have your content stolen, and used without your permission, and to simply have it copy, and pasted.
As a content creator, it sickens me how people take my CTs, and don't credit me, or anything.
And put copyrights, and shit in their hack, only stating their own name, but in reality, he doesn't actually own any of it.

It makes me wonder who's really being the dick here?
They guy running his mouth to the people that were stolen from?
Or the content makers who were wrongfully stolen from, and given no credit?

I don't see what the big deal is. Rulo is obviously a young kid, who's released 'their' first Rom back compilation thing lol. He/she is going to make mistakes, as long as they learn from it, that's all that really counts.

I understand why ppl are upset for taking their work,repacking it and slapping their own name on it, but there's no need to be rude about. Cut the kid some slack. Rulo is just getting started, most other 'Rom hackers' start out the same way when they are young and naive as to how the world works.

Just relax and instead of attacking Rulo, encourage him/her to do the right things and help inspire them. Tearing ppl down, gets nowhere....
