Gaming Dragon Quest XI Questions

While waiting for my 3DS copy of DQXI to arrive (should have went digital like PS4 but I digress), I decided to download a copy from freeshop. Issue I've encountered is enemy drops are empty chests and not items. I'm guessing this may be due to lacking the cartridge and the fact that I'm on an O3DS, but I'm concerned transferring my save file to my cartridge whenever it finally arrives will maintain this issue on that specific save. Has anyone encountered this?

Also, the Spell of Restoration doesn't work between that copy and my PS4 copy. Anyone else tried doing one between the freeshop download and the PS4? I'm pretty certain that issue will be cleared up, too, when I get the cartridge.

Dragon Quest XI is on freeshop? I just checked the title key site and it wasn't there so how could it be on freeshop.

Do you have the product code for it? For example, CTR-N-AMKE is Mario Kart 7. Also I assume you are using the .gq titlekey site?

Are you talking about the Japanese version? US version is unreleased. Also, no difference between cartridge and eShop versions.

Yep, Japanese version. Are you saying that enemy drops don't occur in the game proper? That doesn't seem right. They work fine in the PS4 version.

That's the site I'm using. I'll check product code when I get home - I have my 3DS with me but I don't have access to internet currently to get on freeshop.

I can't find a title key or product code for it, but it's definitely in my freeshop. Is it possible the title key was removed after download but it remains in mine because I downloaded it?

It's possible that your problem is some kind of anti-piracy mechanic that they added, though I haven't heard about one on a handheld game in a while.

Any issues you have while playing a FreeShop copy you'll also have on cartridge, as they're identical. If the issues that you're facing are actually unintended, then you can hope that they'll be fixed with an update.

Also, a title key has never been removed from the database, as far as I know, and hence a game has never been taken down from FreeShop.

No one has complained about this issue before with legit copies that I could find, either on Woodus or the DQ group I'm a part of on FB. I can't imagine people wouldn't be speaking up about enemy chest drops being empty. That's what's throwing me. I was holding out til my cartridge arrived to test before posting, but it's taking far longer than normal to arrive.

I noticed on another site, there was something about people having issues running the game, they had to add a seed via fbi.. Maybe the freeshop version is broken? You could try getting the file elsewhere and test that way.. Then you would have a better idea of what is wrong..

Found it, it is CTR-N-BTZJ and it is no surprise it didn't show up on a search since the name is just "ドラゴンクエストXI 過ぎ去りし時を求めて"

That's interesting and exactly what I was curious about. If my cartridge doesn't show up tomorrow I might do that and see what happens. Thanks!

Edit: actually, even if it does, once I transfer the save file, I'll probably do it to see anyway. The more info out there the better.

I was thinking that it could possibly be due to a dying SD card. Maybe try checking it with H2testw, or trying it out with another SD card? If it's an issue that other people are getting, then it could actually be something else, especially if injecting a seed via FBI does fix the issue.
