Hello everyone, i bought a used n3ds ( firmware 9.0E) recently that's already hacked. I want to apply the latest cfw and then update, but i don't recognize the current cfw it has, and 3ds seems easy to brick.
Anyway, the n3ds comes with an r4i i think. I can boot homebrew launcher by holding L button and then pushing power button. The screen glitches for a bit and then homebrew launcher opens.
The choices i have are :
Region free launcher
Sploit installer oot3dhax
Eshop - old version downloader
Eshop
CHMM2
FBI
FtBrony
Gateway
HANS
Ironhax installer
Menuhax manager 2.1
Pasta cfw loader ( this one starts cfw)
Rx tools
Screenshot tools
Headtracking demo

What i want to know is how can i reset the n3ds and apply the latest cfw witjout brickikg it since i read that pasta cfw affects the NAND somehow.
How do i backup the nand?

It is safe to format, although you will lose all savedata and the emunand. And then start fresh from 9.0 and follow the guidelines at 3ds.guide.

Thank you! So by formatting memory card, the emunand will be gone ( idc about user data) the system will be like factory reset and i can use the 3ds guide. Also do i have to use the 3ds sd card format menu or is it ok to format on pc too?

You are better off formatting it on pc, because the emunand is saved in a hidden partition on your memory card. Just make sure to use software to format it.

What software and settings should i use to format it?? I read it has to be MBR or something
