The rules are quite simple, we will be selecting 1 random viewer of the stream as a winner, and alternatively another copy will be available via this thread if you can't watch the stream. All you have to do is post in this thread and let us know what is your favourite Sonic level (from any Sonic game) and why (a sentence or two minimum). The 2nd winner will be randomly selected from the thread in 48 hours from the time of this post.

Good luck to all those who enter!

Hey, you took that from me! /s

OK, I'm in the stream, and the lag is UNBEARABLE. The only video quality is 720p60, and my shitty internet can't handle that. Could you try turning it down please?

i was writing it since the reply of Naendow lel, sorry if we have the same pleasures :P

Mostly because RUNNING AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND
But also because I like the way the skateboarding (?) down the road in the city controls, and I was always very excited about that stage

My favorite level is the Star Light zone from the first game. I really enjoyed the action and the music. I remember my kid self taping the music and listening to it.

"Aw yeah! This is happening!"

Far and away, my favorite Sonic level is Mushroom Hill. There's a ton of fun little set pieces for the level, like bouncing off the small mushrooms, riding the giant mushrooms as umbrellas, or using the pulleys to find higher paths through the levels. It's also got some rockin' music.

Ffs stop taking my choices people

Ugh too many great stages to pick frommmmm

Angel Island (the first zone from Sonic 3) has such good good music and the introduction to Knuckles with that boss ass drum fill.

Stardust Speedway (bad future, Sonic CD) has even better music and the hardest boss fight... for quite a few sonic games.

But my real favorite level of any of them is Oil Ocean. I played Sonic 2 at a very young age. I was pretty good and I loved seeing the more "edgy" level designs that were maybe meant for slightly older gamers (not that sonic was teen or mature, but you know) like chemical zone and wacky workbench. Oil Ocean was so strange to me. That orange sky, and an entire floating oil rig going unchecked, completely polluting an entire ecosystem... And the music. The music was so ominous, at least to my 9 year old ears. I was in awe.

My favorite level Is Angel Island Zone, the intro of sonic and tails on tornado, then running up onto the beach shores, followed by losing chaos emeralds, and eventually the island on fire. There is also logs that roll down waterfalls to jump on, and swings to hang on, and let's not forget the part when sonic runs up the tree to fight the boss, first display of his new sprite work in action.

Is so much effort put into the transition of the zone's setting, is hard not to like it. Also hope you enjoy the game sir. @shaunj66 tell us what you think is the best zone after you are done. :)

I cant watch the stream because of screwy time zones and school wifi. I wanted to get Sonic Mania but I canceled my preordwer to play Rocket LEague on stream. I wasnt able to play with Chary yesterday because I was at school. >.>

My favorite Sonic level is Rooftop Run from Sonic Unleashed. The level is huge and feels like a cohesive experience, boosting along the rooftops and climbing up clock towers. Sonic Unleashed was such an amazing game to me. I grew up with Sonic X so hearing Jason Griffith as Sonic was great! Too bad he was fired right after though. I love how fast and beautiful is, and consider the game the best modern sonic game in the series. The music was so beautiful and I enjoy it dearly. The music for Rooftop Run is so energetic, it gives you the feeling of wanting to run and run, to bust through any problems you have. Sonic as a character has really affected my life in many ways and I try to mimic his attitude towards the world and my problems, and try to face them dead on without putting the burden on someone else. I really want to help others. The world feels so grand and Rooftop Run evokes that passion within me. Maybe that's why I like to run. I want to one day run as fast as I can, I want to be free from problems and just be. I always like Red Roofs because it shows how even huge towns can seem small by running, I want to explore the world one day just like Sonic the Hedgehog does.

I am still a Sonic fan, even if people abandon the series I will be there to stand by him. People call me immature and whatnot due to me having dreams. I feel like dreams keep me going. I will not change for others, and I will not change out of fear if not fitting in. I am all of me, and I'm not giving up. Sonic the Hedgehog has been there through his franchise, and playing his games always give me a good feeling. Sonic has taught that when even if the world around you is falling apart, It doesn't matter. I will always keep on running and trying to reach my goals. Rooftop Run perfectly shows the feeling of running through a huge city, the music is joyful and is pouring with emotion. That music always reminds me of what I need to do and don't look back.

If this sounds cringe, please pardon this, because this is my first time showing my view towards the world on the Temp, but I really love the Character of Sonic the Hedgehog, and I see him as my hero.

IT'S OVER EGGMAN, YOU'RE TOTALLY CRACKED!

Chemical Plant Zone of Sonic 2, there is something in that level that give it a very special place in my childhood memories.
(And yes, this is my first post and I've created my account in 2013, I'm always watching in the shadows.)

Hidden Palace Zone from Sonic 2. Wait, you say that doesn't exist? Well, who would've thought that it was actually a cut level! I also like how Chemical Plant Zone and Death Egg Zone share tilesets. Wood Zone was a scrapped time travel mechanic that made its way into Sonic CD. Dust Hill Zone didn't make it beyond mockups. Genocide City Zone went into Sonic Spinball under a different name.

I still like green hill zone the very first stage. Brings back memories of when I first played a sonic game. Looking forward to playing this.

Favorite Sonic level would be Emerald Hill from Sonic 2, while its the first level it still gets you ready to have fun.

Speed Highway from Sonic Generations is my favorite. The stage just feels perfect for boosting the entire round and the narrow pathways prevent falling off. The platforming portions aren't that hard either.

i would have watched the stream but i am busy so i will try my luck via the thread.

My favorite sonic level out of the entire series is the Green Hill zone from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) since that level being as awesome as it was is what got me into the series. i remember playing that level and being like wow there is so much to this level since there were certain power ups, boosts and rings that were in hard to reach places meaning that you may not get them the first time you play through that level. The green hill zone level also holds alot of nostalgia for me since i remember it being one of the first game levels that i ever played from any game and that is because the Sega Genesis was my first ever gaming system so thus games like Sonic, Aladdin and Streets of rage were games that i have a lot of history with. (oh talking about SOR, Sega! could we please have a SOR remake anytime this decade?)

I really like Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1. It was probably the level I've played the most and the music is just really catchy. It's an overall nice level. My least favourite is surely those darned water levels though lol.
