Hardware Ver 11.6?

While trying to fix ds-mode on a 3ds, (on 11.5) I received a notification to update to the next firmware, (I'm assuming it's 11.6, could even be 12.0 or higher...) and I'm currently sitting on the update screen.
Should I update? I know that luma should be fine, but what else could this axe? I can't find any coverage for this online so far, as this only happened a few minutes ago...

Backup your NAND and update.

If it borks everything, reflash your NAND with NTRboothax.

The current latest version is still 11.5. The system update notification even on the latest version means you have a system title out of date or you accidentally deleted it. A system update from there would fix that, but as DinohScene said, make a NAND backup first.

Broken DS mode as in you used the MSET exploit once?

I believe that booting a retail DS card fixed that problem... tho I'm not sure.

Nope, I put luma on a 3ds on Sunday, and as a side effect it broke ds compatibility, but for some reason the normal fix won't work...

DS machine broke.
I don't have too much to offer but I suggest trying the IRC or the Discord. I'm sure someone there has some tips or something.
