Like the title says... Was curious if an ExFAT formatted external HDD would work with using USB-Loader GX for installing games? Or does it need to be FAT32?
Hi all,
I'm not a noobie FNG, but it's been a while since I had to do anything with my Wii and so many things have changed since I first hacked it and I've also had to re-learn along the way.
So I was wondering if I could ask for help in my final step please....
I used to use two partitions, one as WBFS (using WBFS Manager) and the other as FAT32 for everything else and it worked fine but I've just bought a 2TB thumb drive and want to start again with the new drive.
I want to place all my Wii ROMs and all my NGC ROMs both onto the same partition together, is FAT32 be the best (only?) option for use with USBloader GX?
The 2TB thumb-drive was pre-formatted to exFAT. USBloader GX is seeing the drive but the installed test games aren't populating the list.
I wanted everything to go on the same file format rather than making a partition but I'm not sure if it will format to FAT32 (with real capacity) due to the size.
Anyway, I'm sure it will take a llloooonng time to format 2TB, so before I do, I just wanted to check:
Shall I try to format the entire 2TB Thumb-drive to FAT32 or should I partition it into sections and format them individually?
Thank you.
Pete
Thank you I went for Fat32 64K cluster. Works like a charm!2TB FAT32 64K Cluster.
Works for me both Wii and GC running from USBLoader GX. And of course emulators.
