Core i3 isn't really for gaming but you can probably play most DX11 games on low 50-60FPS if you turn off things like shadows and lower the resolution.

is this something you want to build or have?

Ryzen 3 1300x beats i3 7100 after overclock and is cheap as hell.
You can run TF2 with Toaster config and basically every source game.
You can run most of the games but ofc with a low-end crap, it will kill your fps really hard. I wouldn't be surprised if there was bottleneck or something....

why you so guys so obsessed with the fact he has an i3... it's a kaby lake, not ancient lake... isn't that bad
you know, even if he had the lastest i9, it mostly matters the gpu. and the gpu is shit.

but really weird, kaby lake with DDR3? i am guessing it's a laptop?

I wouldn't try Street Fighter 5 but you should be able to play a lot. If you can, try to upgrade your RAM from 4 to 8. That said,if you stick with 720p or sub 720 with low settings you should be OK. For reference I was able to get Overwatch to run on my tablet with 2GB of RAM. Not well mind you but still... You should be able to get some mileage with your machine as long as you're OK with low settings.

The CPU most definitely does matter. I had an i3 6100 with a GTX 960 and 16 GB of RAM. The CPU bottlenecked my PC so much, and when I finally upgraded to the i7 7700k there was a HUGE difference.
