Hi Guys,

I was using the DSi Ware injection method with Faceez!Monsters to system transfer from a N3DS XL model with B9S;
( N3DS XL 11.5 B9S ---> N2DS XL 11.5 )

All went well in the early set up following the guide and the game (Faceez! Monsters) was successfully glitched and giving the correct error.

However, during the system transfer the DSi Ware title hadn't been transferred over. The guide said i may be asked if i wanted to transfer them but i was never asked such a question. As a result I am currently in this position;
My original N3DS XL is now restored with all its previous games and saves but of course without its NNID (which ideally i want as its linked to my nintendo account) and as a result of having no NNID i assume thats why my badges on my home menu wipe clean every time i reload the home menu.
My New N2DS XL is now holding all data and has my NNID but without the DSi Ware to action B9S and also doesn't display any of the games from the SD card... i imagine because its either wiped tickets or because without CFW theyre not getting through sig checks?

My Current ideas are;
that messing with tickets using TIKDevil stopped me getting a 'legit' copy of the game... (i know it was a dumb move to assume that would be ok but i was excited with my new purchase)

I have now actually purchased the DSi Ware game on my 3DS XL and plan to try the process again after the seven days pass.
1. will i need to have an NNID on the N3DS for the DSi Ware to be carried over this time?
2. Will system transfer now ask to move DSiWare? and if not will it bother moving it?
3. will I be able to call nintendo to retrieve my NNID from the void after its kicked off the N2DS?
(note: I can live without the NNID, hacking the N2DS is the priority here)
4. I hope nintendo don't roll out any hax breaking system updates in the next week.

If anyone can answer my specific questions or put me straight on anything i've said I would be very appreciative.
Im just very disappointed in myself for buggering it up the first time, thankfully i'm just back where I was apart from the NNID issue.

If you failed to purchase the game, that would be why it didn't transfer. If you did purchase it, all you have to do is move it to the SD card (can do this under System Settings -> Data Management -> DSiWare) then put the SD card in the 2DS XL and do the same thing, but choose move from SD card to system memory. Then it should be there ready to use. This will work as long as a) you purchased the game, and b) you made a NAND backup on the source pre-transfer with no system formats in between making the backup and transferring, and you restored the pre-transfer NAND backup to the source.

Edit: I misunderstood, sounds like you failed to purchase the game. Oh well. You'll have to wait seven days. You can system transfer without an NNID. You'll have to format the 2DS XL.

The DSi game has to be actually purchased from the eShop, so if you didn't purchase it until now, it wouldn't have worked before.

Yeah the issue i think was that i'd mucked about with TIKDevil and mass installed tickets so when i went to purchase the game it said redownload. I knew why it said that but thought something along the lines of 'i'm still downloading from the eshop so i'm sure it'll be fine'. But of course ninty sorted their stuff out when i did the transfer. Don't worry I am kicking myself.

After the transfer i did go the route of putting the DSiWare onto the SD and moving it over etc to try and fix the problem but after the fact it wouldn't let me move from the SD into the target system. again I imagine because the target system recognizes I haven't bought this software

Following that mess I have restored the pretransfer NAND backup to my source DS, deleted the ticket for Faceez!Monsters and ACTUALLY purchased the title on the system in preparation for next weekend. I will be sure to format the target system as well. Any ideas on retrieving the NNID?

Thanks

Only way to save your NNID if you're formatting is to call Nintendo and tell them you lost your device and want to transfer your NNID to whichever console you want it on

Sounds like a right load of effort but it is my own dumb fault :lol: thanks for your help everyone

If an update drops in the meantime that prevents this exploit then ill be really upset though :shit:, could this be prevented though given that i now have the DSiWare, isn't the rest beyond nintendo's control somewhat?

One extra question that I feel you may have an idea on. The fact that my system transfer neither had any mention of what kind of transfer i wanted (ie. low capacity, local wireless, via PC etc. and didnt ask if I wanted to retain DSiWare titles.
Any ideas why this was because i have done transfers in the past where these steps have happened. This transfer was quite abrupt and didn't specify what would actually be moved or deleted. (except for that the targets system and data would be deleted).

Again, thanks everyone!!!
wish me luck

It didn't ask you what kind of transfer because you were doing a new system to a new system, and both use microSD cards. It only asks if you're doing an old to a new system since you might have a big SD in the old 3DS and you can't just move that over. But for new->new it assumes you'll move the card over. It didn't ask you to move DSiWare titles because you didn't have any, you never bought one.

You can fix this. If you just bought the DSiWare game on your new console (N2DS) instead, and then you could move the injected game from your N3DS to your SD card and then move it to your N2DS without waiting a week for another transfer.

https://web.archive.org/web/20161222154419/https://3ds.guide/troubleshooting#ts_dsiware

Since it sounds like you already bought it on your N3DS, you can wait a week of course to transfer it over. Your NNID should be fine on your N2DS, and if you want it on your N3DS, just do a transfer from your 2DS to your 3DS after you've gotten your 2DS setup.

Ok, so I've retried the failed transfer and my New 2DS XL successfully has B9S.

The only problem that remains is that all my titles from the original 3DS remains greyed out with a cross in the list of system software (and of course invisible and unplayable from the home menu). I've looked online and seen that injecting the pre-tranfer title.db/ticket.db etc may help? any ideas on this?

-edit: So yeah when i return the pre- system transfer NAND to my source 3DS it is again able to play these games but the target 3DS isn't able to display them on the home menu. From what I've read this does seem to be a ticket.db/title.db issue but don't think i can just move these files straight from source to target with D9? Just hoping someone can explain what i'm seeing.

Use tikShop to install tickets in the target. Tickets from nonbought games don't transfer, you have to install them manually.

see the issue i find is that for dsi forwarders and gba injects they never had a ticket of sorts so why aren't they just displaying... I wont claim to be an expert on this atall but i thought part of all we achieved with cfw was showing unsigned programmes etc.
When did having tickets become such an issue for showing titles?
