I have a N3DS (US) with A9LH/Luma running the region patching settings.

When I try to run the DQVIII restoration cia I get the screen that tells me I need to write extdata to the SD. No matter what I do, I can't get the game to write data without error-ing out. I know I have gotten around this before, but for life of me I can't remember how.

Solution:
-enable Luma's patching mode
-insert a locale txt file in: luma/titles/<titleID>/locale.txt
-since I was using the European cia i had to make the locale EUR EN

Laziness honestly. I know updating is the easiest way to fix some stuff, but i know I have done this before (same error) on A9LH before.

No custom themes, just the default black theme right now.

i remember reading some where it has something to do with themes(i could be wrong or just remember wrong) so why dont you change to default default theme that plain gray one.

also are you getting an error code? if so can you post it?

Use Lumas region spoofing and change the local to "EUR EN" then load the game, that's what worked for me. You may have to turn off "game patching", restart the console, then turn it on again for it to work properly.

So you know create a text file in luma/titles/<TitleID>/Locale.txt Should be good to go.

Where do i access Luma's local switcher? I think I have done that before, but I can't remember where you do that.

I don't use the program anymore. I manually create the locale files on the PC, and put them in the directory with an FTP. I couldn't find the right locale switcher for Luma new file structure.

But yeah, just make a new text file and type "EUR EN" then save it named as "locale.txt", and place it in luma/titles/<TitleID>/

while that was a kid-friendly endeavor, this new take will adapt the story Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin.
