Hacking Need Help W/ 3DS.Guide Quick!

Hey guys, my nephews birthday is around today (he'll be awake in a couple of hours!!!) and I wanted to set-up his 2DS with Luma3DS.

His 2DS is version 6.0 and I've been following the 3ds.guide up to

Section III - Launching FBI

After I go to the Download Play application, I press L + Down + Select and choose the Switch the hb.title to the current app, it says success and then I exit out, then close download play and reopen it.

The issue is that the device gets stuck on the Nintendo 3DS logo when reopening the Download Play application instead of loading the Homebrew Launcher!

Please help!!!

My system turns off properly and on, i think i realize the mistake, I skipped this part

Update your device by going to System Settings, then “Other Settings”, then going all the way to the right and using “System Update”

• Updates while using B9S + Luma (what you have) are safe
• If this gives you an error, set your DNS settings to “auto”
• If this still gives you an error and your NAND is below 9.2.0, follow 9.2.0 CTRTransfer, then try updating again"
