I have an old 2DS running firmware 11.2.0-35U and using Luma3DS. I wanted to reinstall the CFW because I couldn't get The Homebrew Launcher working anymore and I couldn't play Pokemon Moon (The game crashes 20 seconds after running it in a black screen). I've already formatted my system, but getting rid of boot9strap will be hard for me because I lost my NAND backup.

I tried to reinstall it anyway without getting rid of boot9strap, and the instructions off of 3ds.guide work as it's supposed to; only to the point where I need to run safehax. Safehax just goes to a black screen when I run it. I've heard that I would need to insert a game into the 2DS in the process, but that doesn't help.

As of now I only have the homebrew launcher with no FBI or CFW. When I go into system settings I still see "Sys 11.2.0-35U". Can anyone give me some tips to make this work? Would any other NAND backup work if it was the same firmware on an old 2DS?

Please stop everything you are doing. Stop troubleshooting in the dark like this.
What is the error the games are giving you? How were you getting into the homebrew launcher? What version of Luma3DS are you running?

its best to explain step by step, before you end up with a dead paperweight. And you can not use another NAND backup because they are linked towards the specific Unit

Follow https://3ds.guide/finalizing-setup to get back all the software.

The game just goes into a black screen right away for about 20 seconds then it goes back to the home menu saying "An error has occurred. The app was forcibly closed. The system will now restart." (Or something like that)
I was using the Homebrew Launcher Loader, as seen in the Finalizing Setup part of 3ds.guide.
Right now I am using Luma3DS v7.1.

I actually found some backup files on my computer. I also found my backup NAND.bin with it, but I can't restore it because Safehax doesn't work.
I have the Decrypt9.log with my files as well. Here it is. https://pastebin.com/U0Euyt3n

Thats because you have luma already. Safehax isn't needed because it won't work with Luma.

Please stop what you are doing, none of that is at all necessary.
First you don't need to restore your NAND to fix this issue.
Second: Reformatting your system through the system setting will not remove B9S. B9S is installed directly onto the hardware and is deeper than system settings can touch
Now what you most likely need to do is a few steps to get you up to speed.
Update your build of B9S to 1.2 and update to the latest Luma3DS: Guide
From there test the rom. If it crashes again, try redownloading the rom

1. if Pokemon Moon isn't working, it work likely is the game got corrupted. Back up the save using JKSM and redownload Pokemon Moon.

2. Update your Luma Version.

3. To restore a nand backup follow This: https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage

4. A nand backup will only work if it is from your system. (Otherwise you will brick.)

Right now I can't reinstall my game because the instructions from Section III - Launching FBI don't work, therefore I don't have a kernel backdoor to run FBI in the Homebrew Launcher. Any help on that, please?

Kernel backdoor not installed. Please run a kernel exploit and try again.

Also, when pressing L+Down+Select to go to the Rosalina menu nothing happens.

I have to do something so give me 30 mins.
Sounds like you are using outdated files. Please get boot.3dsx and FBI.3dsx from the guide again, don't use files you already have on your computer.

I'm able to boot into Luma3DS settings but not GodMode9. I already have the latest versions of everything you told me about, too.

EDIT: Nothing I put into /luma/payloads will work and yes I do have the latest version of Luma3DS. Is something about Luma3DS not working?

Update those payloads.

I've ran into another problem.
After I recovered my CFW, I decided to use Lum3DS Updater to update Luma3DS without any troubles. I pressed B + X to allow updating the boot.firm in CTR-NAND, but after the update I soft bricked the system. I was able to recover my old boot.firm files in the SD and CTR-NAND, but I'm still disappointed that I can't update to 8.1.
Of course I tried updating without updating the CTR-NAND boot.firm, but it would result in the config still appearing as 7.1 and I wouldn't be able to load payloads (The same as I described in the previous posts).
Is there a way of updating Luma3DS without all of this?
I already updated boot9strap about 5 times, in case any of you ask about it.
