wait,, you can play vc games in 3d?? so like super Metroid or castlevania can be played with 3d then?

If you already have a new 3ds xl it's best not to waste money but you do what ever you want. If you have an old 3ds or 2ds go ahead since it's cheaper then the regular new 3ds xl. I use 3D sometimes like for the cut scenes such as Fire emblem fates. Other than that I leave it off for regular game play. It's a nice option to have when you want to use it.

depends....

Mario 3dLand is a great game that uses the 3d on some short perspective places.
But most of the games , especialy the new ones like Ever Oasis don't use that feature like it should be.

Being completely right eye blind, the 3D feature has always been totally useless to me. It just doesn't work. I sure wish Nintendo had given us a clamshell 2DS a few years ago, cause I would have bought one of those instead of a new 3DS and never touching the 3D slider. Now they go ahead and release not only a clamshell 2DS, but it's basically a New 3DS without 3D.

,,l,, ,,l,, <-----right here, Nintendo.

The fact that mostly the games nintendo make look best with 3D, and some doesn't even have any, hard to say. When I got my O3DS and Super Mario 3D land, I liked it, but god damn the graphics was awful on that 240P screen and not evAnen 60FPS. Nintendo should port that to wii u and add more stages so it look better.

Anyway it depends on the game, some games actually look slower with it on, like Dead or alive dimensions and Hyrule warriors.

I can never play for more than like 10 minutes with it on... Something about my eyes just doesn't seem to play ball with it I guess?

Either way, I like having the extra battery with not using it, because lord knows the old 3DS XL needs it.

Pilotwings Resort, Zelda LBW, SM3DL, NSMB2, MM3D, and Pokemon XY/ORAS/SuMo all look excellent with 3D.

I used it for a bit, but for it to work I had to have it far away at a fixed location, it became tiresome. I only use it for cutscenes now. If you already have a 3ds just turn off the 3d unless you wanna buy the new 2ds.

3D doesn't work for me, although on occasion I've tried really hard anyways to try it again. Oh, and as far as the 2DS being not clamshell, I actually prefer it this way. With the GBA SP, a clamshell meant I could pocket it and take it with me. But the DS/3DS are simply too big IMHO to lug around in a pocket. So, I gladly trade having a system better designed for adult hands. That and there's the issue of balance which constantly has me tilting the top screen with my N3DSXL. So, I end up playing my 2DS almost exclusively even though the N3DSXL looks so much better. *sigh*

Back in the day I used it all the time, but now I mostly only turn it on when there's a cutscene happening.
