Hacking From gateway to cfw, noob, help needed!

Hello everybody!

I have been away from the scene for more than 1 year so i need help to change from gateway to cfw. I have read the 3ds guide (https://3ds.guide/)

My firmware is currently 4.5.0-10e. Im unsure which method do I need to use: Browser or MSET?

If i need to use MSET can I use my RED-colored gateway card to do it? Guide says that I need "Any DS flashcart that works on your device version".
Or do I need the BLUE-colored gateway card.

You can use either the browser method or the MSET method, since you have access to both. It's up to you. Just follow the guide exactly.

It is highly recommended that you ditch Gateway completely. While it is possible to use Gateway emuNAND after installing Luma3DS and B9S, compatiblity issues can arise, and accidentally using Gateway with your sysNAND instead of your emuNAND could result in an accidental removal of B9S, which would cut you off from Luma3DS and Gateway.

Highly recommend you convert/backup your gateway saves via jksm BEFORE you upgrade.

Thank you for your reply Lacius. I will ditch gateway immediately. There was problem when I tried browser method: When I put my SD-card to my 3ds (sd-card is installed the files that the guide tells me to), the 3ds says that "cannot display the software of the SD Card. The sd card could not be accessed".

Is this sign OK?

When I try put on my wifi and when i write URL that guide tells me to to my 3ds browser, the exploit doesnt work. I tried with all 4 URL:s. What is wrong?

I "deleted all saved data" from my browser (using the guide).

Can you help me? What do I do wrong?

SonicMC, I dont have any savefiles of games since I formatted the card already and I dont need those savefiles. =)

If it's saying that the SD card cannot be read, then that's not a problem with the exploit. It's a problem with your SD card. You should backup the contents of the SD card, reformat it, and try again. You should also make sure you're only taking out and putting in the SD card while the 3DS is off.

Edit: To be clear, when do you receive the error message?

I will try to format the card again and put the files in and try again. I have mys SD-card in MBR like the guide tells me.

And should SD-card be in exFat or FAT32? i mean wen i format it?

seems to be working. I just had wrong format with my sd-card. It needs to be fat32, and NOT exFAT.

Put it on the SD card and use Godmode9.

You don't use 3DS files, you use CIAs and FBI to install them. Though I recommend installing freeShop.

Get a bigger SD Card.

If you have the .3ds file, it's easier to convert it to CIA using GodMode9. Get the .3ds file onto an SD Card and I'll help you.

it says that file size is bigger than 4gb. Type 3ds file. How can I make the .3ds rom smaller?
