Hardware Suggestions for Accessories

I don't want it because I want either one charging the other but because it'd be easier to hold. This whole "you can use the stand to put the switch on the coffee table" is all and well but looks like it can fall down at any second. Then there's the fact that you don't always have a coffee table nearby (on a commuting train, for example), or that external factors may interfere (it may sound stupid, but I've got a dog over here...my estimate is that a switch at that position will be left unsniffed/unbitten for at most ten seconds).
Oh I see, you want to be able to physically attach it to the pro controller. The stand is fairly sturdy, certainly not as bad as CNET would like to pretend. Handheld is best left to the joy cons however.

Okay, according to this website, this list the 5 best nintendo switch screen protection accessories.

Best Nintendo Switch Screen Protectors
  • PDP Nintendo Switch Official Screen Protection Kit
  • Nintendo Switch Case with Screen Protector
  • Hori Officially Licensed Screen Protective Filter for Nintendo Switch
  • amFilm Nintendo Switch Tempered Glass 2-Pack
  • Nintendo Switch Zelda Collector’s Edition Screen Protector & Skins
:arrow:SOURCE

So if anyone has one of these 5 can they tell me their opinon? i been looking at the amazon reviews, and the amFiLM glass one seem like the best seller and review score among the rest. I also am curious, does anyone know the best way to apply these things? Someone said you should apply it in a hot steamy enviroment like a bathroom shower, and screen wipe it first to remove dust and such, then use precision maneuvers to perfectly get the execution of putting on there with no problem. That seem complicated.

I have the amFilm and so far has been good. I believe it is .13mm so a little thinner than the Casemate one. Plastic vs glass is a matter of preference. I prefer glass for touchscreens because they are smoother but the plastic ones on the Wii U GP and 3DS have held up well. On my iPhone they general last 6-9 months before want them replaced.

You can search YouTube for the "hinge method" of applying the protector. Involves using tape on one edge to create a hinge for precise placement. I just winged it and got it within .5mm of perfect. Never used the steamy bathroom method as that is not the best thing for electronics. It helps cut down on dust in the air. I say just get it lined up and once you peel off the plastic place it within a few seconds.

Would suggest giving the protector 24 hours before docking. Some have reported issues along the edges from the heat buildup docked so best to let the adhesive cure a bit.

I can confirm this ethernet adapter works with Switch and Wii U. If you want a USB 3.0 for gigabit ethernet I hear the Amazon basics one works but is currently OOS.

Are we talking about the same problem that is on the front page about adhesive having problems with various skins for the system?

Anyway since i notice it was a best seller, i figured i may use that amfilm but usually worry i won't put it on right. Now that the screen protection is out of the way, the case for dust and shock proof (Damage drop) protection would be nice, nothing too expensive or bulky, something i can maybe fit in a pocket. Also just curious, does anyone know any good HDMI splitters, i need new one for my other 6 consoles, maybe one that supports 5 ports, has remote, and powered without external source.

No this is a separate issue some have reported with screen protectors. Some report the Switch getting very hot in the dock and causing weird streak marks and bubbles along the edge of the protector. I have some very, very slight streak marks along the bottom 1mm edge but I can't say if they were there before docking or not. I have to look very very closely to see them and it is on the bezel anyway.

Once on a case, you are going to need some super big pockets.

Can't help you on the HDMI splitter but from Amazon reviews I have read some of the auto switching ones can act up a bit. Figure out how many ports you need and just read reviews keeping in mind that at least 5% of users are incredibly stupid and would give a potato a bad review.

I would only need 5 ports, or more, and one with remote i would think since i apparently have problems with with the switch randomly changing inputs during use of other systems connected to it. The reviews should help but if they are bad
mouthing it cause they don't know how to use it, then it wouldn't be helpful to me. :P

I have super good pockets in my coat, it can fit 8 game cases in there, and i'm talking like GC/PS2/XBOX Game cases, not portable games. :)

Depending on your entertainment center setup you may want to at least investigate a home theater receiver to handle the HDMI switching. Most are rather expensive but I have seen some entry level ones $100 on sale.

Depending on the features of the unit it *could* solve the Bluetooth headphone issue with the Switch if that is a concern of yours.

I don't have a bluetooth headphone issue.

Is this known to be good? I saw this after a chart explaining the best option for external usb charger that wasn't included with my system. It says that using a usb c + usb c cable is best over USB A + USB C cause it won't be able to output full charge and games like The Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild
will still drain power even when charging. USB A is useful cause most objects support it including the wall charger, pc ports, console ports etc. but wouldn't be full potential.

I found this after looking for USB C + USB C Charger, I dunno if anyone else has this yet (Cause no one mentioned it in this thread) But I wonder if is good.

at least it was the OP who bumped it this time

Just ordered it for $50 with a usb C cable. Hope is good. I can use it to charge my stuff even my Laptop :D

Now still have to consider what screen protector to get and case, wonder if new stuff was made since march. Good quality but not expensive.
