My Pro Controller stopped charging, but I know that it still works reliably (apart from that). Is there anyway to replace the charging port? I don't want to spend $70 on another pro controller. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Edit: Just to be clear I mean the actual port on the controller, not the cord. I know the cord works since I tested it on my Switch.

Why voiding the warranty?
I suggest you send it to Nintendo for free replacement.
I already voided the warranty by modding the controller with xbox elite joysticks (no, I didn't take them from an actual elite controller, I bought the parts on amazon for like $10). However, I know that that mod wasn't the reason why the charger stopped working, as I charged it after to make sure everything worked and it all did.

Maybe it's because I used the Wall adapter for the switch to charge the pro controller? I don't know if that could've broken the port but I'm going to wait until I get a replacement usb a - usb c cable so that I can plug it into my computer (I lost the one that the controller came with)

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

First you should realize what the problem is.
Does the charging light behind the controller turn on when you connect it at least?
If not, well, then try resoldering the USB-C female connector inside, I suppose...

There shouldn't be many failure points: just the USB-C connector and its soldering, the charging circuit and the battery itself, but I think you couldn't do much about the charging circuit...

That USB connector looks like a PITA to solder anyway.

I don't know how well it follows the standard, but supposedly when you connect a USB-C charger it should negotiate the voltage, so it shouldn't break.
If for some reason the Switch's adapter didn't do that and always put 15V, then well, but I don't think they might have do that.

The light doesn't turn on when I try connecting it. That's how I realized that it wasn't charging. I'm gonna wait until I get a usb c cable that I can connect to my computer. If it connects then it could be a battery issue and not the actual port. (the battery would be a lot easier to replace) I also know it can't be a ribbon cable because the only part of that side of the controller that doesn't work is the charging port. Thanks for the help! If/When I resolder the port, I'll post the results here to see if I can fix it or not.

if your good at soldering and have good soldering iron you can replace if your skills arent good enough and or you dont have a good iron and flux then dont even bother take it to cellphone store that repairs chargeing points they might replace it for you

That's a pretty good idea. I always just assumed that they would only do cell phones. Maybe I'll be lucky, since I know of several in a nearby mall. Thanks for the suggestion :D

Edit: This probably isn't even worth saying but I still have the original joysticks. I'm guessing they'd be able to tell, but is there any way to make it look like I didn't open up the controller?

I would advise against replacing it by hand. Even with the proper tools (hot air rework station) it would be pretty difficult to remove and replace. But I do think you should reflow all the data pins on the port. Use a liberal amount of flux on the pins and heat up each pin with a soldering iron. That will help if there's somehow a cold solder joint.

So I can confirm that it is not the battery and is the port. My cable got here today and it wouldn't plug into my computer or my switch (afaik the controller will still work wired if the battery is missing or doesn't work, just like the wii u and xbox controllers). I'll probably do what @rasec7 said and take it into a cellphone repair store and see if they can resolder and/or replace the usb c port.

Call Nintendo and send it in. They pay for your label and it's fairly quick in the US. I got a joycon sent out on Monday and back to me on Thursday of the same week.

As I said before, my warranty was voided. They would probably charge me $70 for a replacement controller

I mean, there is no void if removed sticker. Just switch the sticks and such back and send it off. I doubt they are going to be able to tell unless you destroyed something on it.
