So I updated my B9S to 1.2, all was well.
Then I updated my Luma via the updater .Cia to 8.0 stable version but on reboot I got a blue light blink then my 2ds didn't turn on. I then made sure i replaced my boot.firm from the Luma8.0 zip and I still just got the blue light. I then went back to 7.1Luma boot.firm and my 2ds boots up but i am not sure where to go from here or whats wrong

Make sure to have the latest Luma Updater available.
2) If it doesn't work with Luma Updater, try by doing it yourself, by putting the boot.firm to the root of your SD Card.

If luma 7.1 boots, you never updated b9s

Actually, no, we cannot see which B9S we have installed. Try by updating to 1.1 and then to 1.2.
Going straight to 1.2 shouldn't be a problem. Sounds like he didn't actually properly update B9S..
