Trying to install eshop games with wupinstaller but it just seems to hang on "installing" and it doesn`t move from 0%.
Anyone else have this problem??
Only having this problem with eshop games, regular retail games install fine.

Are you running haxchi or mocha before you Install them if not that is your problem as eshop games need haxchi or mocha to work.

Yes haxchi

EDIT.....and I`m assuming they can be installed on USB? or does it have to be NAND?
No they will install to USB fine how do you have your haxchi set up does it automatically boot to haxchi cfw or does it load to the homebrew launcher automatically??

No autoboot.
Haxchi > HBL > wupinstaller
Using HaxChi like that won't get you into CFW. You're just using it as an entry point for HBL.

Change the config.txt in the HaxChi folder on your SD to say "default=sysmenu". Then reinstall HaxChi over the top of itself to apply the change.

Now when you tap HaxChi you're in CFW.

Now you have to find a way into HBL. You can setup HaxChi so you hold B to get into HBL the same way you did with config.txt above. I prefer to install the HBL channel (just like your eshop games you'll have to first tap HaxChi so you're in CFW). But you at least have to get in there once after being in CFW to install the HBL channel. Just launch HBL from loadiine.ovh and then WUP Installer GX2 to install the HBL channel (but remember tap HaxChi 1st)

Before trying to install anything that requires CFW check first to make sure that you're in HaxChi CFW by looking at your Wii U settings. It should say 99.99.99 as your version number

I already have the config.txt as default=sysmenu.
I already have the HBL Channel installed.
It already shows 99.99.99.
and FYI I`m getting the eshop games via usbhelper

It's one thing to have "default=sysmenu" in the config.txt on your sd card but DID YOU reinstall haxchi over your current haxchi so it can take the new settings
because just changing the default in the config txt won't do anything.

Did you miss the fact the op said sys menu is showing firmware 99.99.99 which means haxchi has been set up right and the cfw is running so obviously he has reinstalled it already with the correct cfg.txt

Don`t remember reading any tutorial that Haxchi had to be installed twice ("reinstall Haxchi over the current Haxchi"????) Isn`t changing the config.txt prior to installing Haxchi part of the correct process/procedure?
When it shows firmware version 99.99.99....doesn`t that mean Haxchi CFW is installed?
If I can get into the Homebrew channel.....doesn`t that mean Haxchi CFW is installed?

True but you should read everything correctly and make sure you know what you are talking about before giving advice or you run the risk of looking like an idiot lol.

Yes i may look like an idiot but it still doesnt give you the right to call me one, you could of simply said that i misread and i was wrong

Your really not getting it are you lol you are on a site where a lot of technical things are discussed and giving wrong information can lead to bricks or other fuck ups you really need to read everything correctly and know what you are talking about before replying and make sure you are giving correct information. But sorry for upsetting you by calling you an idiot.

What "brick" can happen by reinstalling haxchi? are you serious? Enough of quoting me and leave me alone man, you're not here to help

Did I say that it was to do with haxchi?? No I said in general you have to give good advice before commenting. And if I'm not here to help why have I being trying to help the op then hmm. I gave you friendly advice in how to use the site by telling you to always give correct advice and to read everything correctly but if you don't want to listen that's cool. You will soon learn how this site operates from others even without my help lol. If you can't take constructive criticism and if you are offended by being called an idiot this site really is not for you sorry because people here will call you a whole lot worse than that.

You are correct, I almost began to second guess myself...like I did something wrong? etc...

BUT back to my issue.....this is my first attempt to install eshop games, thats why it was odd that they would not install...it just hangs/freezes at 0% installling, I have to press the home button to get me back out to the system menu.

UPDATE......
Now nothing will install to USB....retail games, eshop, dlc, updates, etc..
Installing to NAND works....then I can move to USB via data management copy/move

EDIT....whats the difference between wupinstaller and the GX version?

@Psionic Roshambo i didn't go amd for one specific reason, the AI performance is way behind nvidia
    +1

    i just got a 4070ti
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
oh yeah also DLSS is a pretty solid reason to go nvidia since fidelityfx is kinda crap
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and now with the rtx video upscaling, and sdr->hdr conversion, even more reason to go nvidia
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
both of which work well in potplayer
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Year not yard lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
