Hardware Mobile phones responsible for Switch shortage

According to this article there's an industry wide shortage of certain electronic components required to manufacture the Switch and Nintendo can't get enough of them because it's suppliers have a more profitable relationship with mobile phone companies. This might also contribute to the buildup of faulty Switches gathering in Nintendo's repair centers.

This issue doesn't affect me personally, but for those who want a Switch and those who have returned a faulty Switch this is a serious problem.

There's always new Chinese brand Android phones (with hardware of various brands) coming out everyday so that seems like a weak excuse. Nintendo could obviously get the tech if they need but seems the scarcity somehow works in their favour.

You're basically saying nintendo can just swap out their hardware parts for ones used in Chinese brand phones. Frankly...I doubt it. Most smartphones in the low-end segment are just used to make calls, texting, mailing and/or a few small apps. As such, they can save on materials used to produce the thing. And unless you attempt some heavy strain the phone (say...attempt video editing), you won't notice the difference. For a console/tablet, that may very well make the difference between 30 FPS and 10 because the weakest part (that part of the hardware) bottlenecks everything else. And may as such break down faster.

I think there's a shortage of NAND, not SoC.
