Yes. When it says it won't work with the Welcome Amiibo update it means the game cartridge with that update pre-installed.

No it won't. Just update it. The two ACNL games have different icons because

has the update pre-installed, while

does not. Updating

to v1.5 will not turn the game into

have different title IDs, meaning they are different games.
