I have a 3ds with a broken 3d slider. I'm trying to format using TinyFormat, but I can't get through the setup because of the broken slider.
I got out of the format-brick via NAND backups, but I still haven't formatted which is what I wanted to do in the first place.
Is there any way at all (besides 2dsave which doesn't work because I don't own cubic ninja) that I can format without this happening?

Nope. Sorry. Why are you formating anyway?

If you don't mind me asking, but what is actually wrong with your slider to prevent it from working?
It might not be too hard a fix and you can your system back up and running with it.
I've opened up my 3ds before, it's not connected to the motherboard.

So I've never actually opened the screen top screen of my 3DS (seems like something that could easily break)
But looking up the board here
It looks like the sliders is part of the same ribbon cable as the speakers (on the old3DS.) So what part is actually damaged? Was it torn or just placed back into it's spot?

The slider wasn't connected to anything, and I don't know what to connect it to

I'm trying to change my Nintendo Network ID, but I don't think that's relevant to this, unless there's a way to change NNID without formatting with homebrew

Wait, so it was just hanging loose there? Like that's how you got the system with the slider completely detached from the system itself?

How did you get passed the 3D check in the first place? Or did you buy it already setup?
When I originally bought the 3ds it wasn't broken

Maybe he has OOT it works with OOT too
I have the Eshop version of OoT, but that doesn't work, does it?

Well, just an update; today the 3d works all the way. The slider doesn't work still, but since it's stuck at full 3d I can format and get through setup. (I literally did nothing it fixed itself)

That's good, because formatting with homebrew doesn't disassociate the NNID from your console anyway.
