I've recently signed up for the NDA and am currently in the market for a testing unit for my unity conversions. Is there any way I could PRACTICALY use a cfw(luma b9s) n3ds?, I know it is possible but I'm looking for more info from people more experienced with this. (I really don't have the cash to buy a new system...)

Set developer UNITINFO: patches the value of CFG_UNITINFO sent to the ARM11 on boot to make applications believe they are running on a developer unit, and switches the CIA encryption to the developer one.
This makes ErrDisp display debugging information and allows you to install and run certain system software for development units, but also prevents using the eShop, amiibo, retail-encrypted CIAs etc.

I was looking at this, but how easy is it to revert?

If I'm correct, you would just turn it off in luma?

Correct. Same with exception handlers, that you will probably want enabled for debugging.

remember if you intend to publish anything on the eShop, you have no way around buying a development unit at some point. I'm pretty sure lot check will check that.
