So I have been fighting Lynels for upgrades on armor. But so far I have been finding only silver lynels.. is there a way to find the regular brown, blue and the white maned or is it like this forever because I still need to finish the hyrule compendium.

They're spread out. You will as far as I know always find the same Lynel at the same place. I met a silver one at the north laberynth and there are some at the dino skeleton north.

You have to buy the red (brown)'s compendium entry I believe. One you've reached a certain point in the game, red Lynel turn to blue Lynel and blue Lynel turns to silver Lynel.

Red Lynel can be found at the mountain near Zora's Domain.

Blue is in 1st Gatehouse in Hyrule Castle.

White is 2nd Gatehouse, also in Hyrule Castle.

Good luck with those last two, 'cause they drop in from above and seem to already be in aggro mode.

barbarian armor and attack food doesn't stack btw.
Are you sure? What makes you think that?
I've never tried, because I find that the Lynels do too much damage unless I'm using my highest defense armor (especially the higher level ones), so even if I have a lot of HP upgrades and only get hit a few times it's still enough to waste a lot of high level food making it not really worth it.
And my highest defense armor happens to be the ancient armor.
But there's no indication in the game at all that the effects don't stack, so that's why I'm wondering what makes you think that.

I read it on a post talking about barbarian armor vs ancient armor and I just tested it right now. Both having three pieces of attack up armor and having three pieces with attack up food lowered the health of a moblin from 144 to 99 with one swing of the master sword.

Im to weak to kill a Silver Lynel:cry:
Just git gud. Or you could make some defense up food and health boost food and slowly wear it down. Also you can slightly cheese it by bombarding it with bomb arrows while slow falling.
On a side note, what is the official name for the ability when you pull out your bow while falling?
