I wish to know how to put in/play custom levels in prboom 3DS and because I was asked to find this out by a friend or two,

So to unpack this, I want to start by saying -

In the belief that theres no 'command-line' on prboom for DOOM on 3ds(there isn't, is there?) because of a lack first off because of a digital keyboard or otherwise, I went about trying to merge WAD files together one way or another, and to achieve it I enlisted the help of such programs as SLADE 3 & HxD for hours; trying to figure out the very unspecified speech of people on forums like in that snippet I provided, combining files into other files and trying to iron them out as a single WAD file, naming and renaming files and while I came close at one point, this is untreaded water for me and I got nowhere in the end still.

Eventually after completing final doom's TNT, DOOM 2 etc, I wont have any more doom games to run on prboom and that's fine if I could play custom WAD levels but it seems impossible to do so at least the way ive been going about it. (I also spent an hour or two learning about the distinction between pwads that only work on certain mainframes like PRBOOM and zdoom specifically)

To be more specific.. how do you make PWAD files work on 3ds PRboom, and does anyone recall anyone else having asked about a similar situation to this before? Please do help, the information ive come across if any has been very limited in scope.

you should be able to figure it out from this example
http://gbatemp.net/threads/doom.376939/page-12#post-5468795

I see..
- Are you trying to tell me that its only possible to have custom levels by editing them out by ones own hands? if that's the case, could I get the source code as the link is broken for it?

- Did I not understand what you meant?

- How is one supposed to do follow that example if they cant type anything once they turn on prboom? just saying that it seems to be one of the steps.

Wtf? Hand edit levels? No idea how you came to that conclusion - or really even what are getting at. this uses standard doom wads. There are approximately 1 billion reference online for creating levels for doom - pick one. Too big of a subject for a forum post.
If you don't have a keyboard on the bottom screen then you have a really old version.
Also - there are two ports of prboom3ds. If the you can enable 3D with the slider then you have the version I created. If not then you have the version that wintermute created after I had already released my version.
Here is link to my most recent release

Yes

The first link was to a thread (on this forum) about a specific pwad (not relevant) and how to use it in prboom3ds (the relevant part). The second link was for downloading a newer version of prboom3ds. Neither link is for a level editor. neither link mentions a level editor. *shrugs*

Ok then.. please tell me how to input cheat codes on the virtual keyboard, I poked at it a lot but no codes worked or showed any signs of it during gameplay.

Just type the keys after starting a level. They are the standard doom cheat codes.

elhobbs, I figured out how to work mods and codes on your improved program and I was going to make a final post but then another issue came up after I delayed it - Thanks to messing with this broken 'chex quest-tc' mod, the result ended up being that my Prboom.cfg file was corrupted after I isolated every file to root out whatever was the culprit - the .cfg file was corrupted. so I went around trying to find a .cfg file of equal quality.. problem is that I have no idea where I got that one from anymore, and every .cfg file since that I keep using has a problem with the fx sounds,(music works fine) or it appears to be that way anyway. Oh sure in the mods sometimes the sound would clock out now and then, but not in the main game just because I fired the plasma gun too long as long as I had that cfg file in the SD card. Would you happen to have a fix for this or a better cfg file that I could have pls? Ive tried patches and those don't seem to work either, at least that I could find.

Basically the fx sound stops when I fire the plasma gun too long or get too heavy into the action.
