Hi everyone,

So my 3DS shell is a bit worn out and I'm looking to replace it with this Pikachu one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For...85.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.266.9TtHzf

Question is, why is there literally no New 3DS XL teardowns/disassembly tutorials anywhere on the internet. Not even iFixit has a tutorial which I find odd... I find regular 3DS XL tutorials but I don't want to risk anything being different for the New 3DS XL and mess something up.

Does anyone know of a tutorial for a complete teardown of the New 3DS XL anywhere on the net so I can buy this and get started? Thanks!

EDIT: Woohoo! I found the teardown on iFixIt. Its just not labelled as the New 3DS XL: https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nintendo+3DS+XL+2015+Teardown/36346

I found this one:

I wanted to use it for a simple swap of the top panel (like the outer shell behind the screen), but it isn't coming off. It's like a bought a refurbished model and they glued it shut and I'm super bummed. Unscrewed the 4 screws, but it's not budging even a bit on any side. :(

Thanks! Very helpful.

I had to find some on ifixit.com when I did my Pikachu shell swap.

Which tutorial did you use btw? The Old 3DS XL one? Also, I love the case and look you have. Does it still look awesome and does the case feel like its good quality?
I didn't get an answer to one my 2 questions and that question is how did your 3ds get so banged up?

I don't know the URL for the teardown, but it looks awesome with my grey shoulder buttons. And the quality is 100% genuine Nintendo.
