So, I wanted to get a Gamecube memory card for my Wii, so I could finally get around to playing GC games using USB Loader GX.
Figured I'd get an SD card adapter, as it was cheaper than a regular GC memory card, and I have spare SD cards laying about. Being able to migrate saves to my PC would also be good.

Thought it would be as simple as putting in a FAT32 memory card, and it would work as a GC memory card.

The WII says that the memory card cannot be used when I try to access it.

I'm basically unable to find any info on this thing online. Could someone please help me with this thing?
I'm suspecting I didn't get what I was looking for, as the text on the packaging alludes to some forms of softmod features.

thoose adapters are for homebrew use only, they don't emulate a normal memory card... they are used either to load homebrew on a gamecube or older wii methods...
you don't need any tool or memory card with gamecube games, nintendont will create virtual memory cards on your gamecube game storage (either sd card or usb) you just need to enable the option..
usb loader gx will either use nintendont or dios mios to load gamecube games, both of them support virtual memory cards.

and with theese virtual memory cards you can manage them on dolphin (thus giving you the ability to use the saves in the pc as well)

Oh, thanks. Sounds like I my Google searches mislead me when I found that I had to have a GC memory card to save GC save files due to hardware limitations...

Could you point me to some places on how this card is supposed to be used though? I couldn't find anything.

sorry i don't have much information about it, all i know is you can put stuff on the sd card, launch homebrew channel and IIRC with the 1 button you can select to use that memory card as a homebrew storage option
i also suspect you can use that to load swiss however since i don't have a gamecube i don't know much about it..
did the card come with a disc?

about loading gamecube games: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/
scroll down and you will see the emulated virtual card stuff
