I modded my Wii back in 2010 and recently updated it following guides very carefully.

I've been able to load WADs and Wii backups successfully, but more than half the time it either takes 20-30 seconds for the game to appear or it hangs on a black screen indefinitely.

I'm using greywolf's USB Loader GX R1269 on 4.3U. Attaching a syscheck output, but please let me know if anything else would be helpful.

And not sure if this is expected, but my Wiimote always disconnects when I launch a game. If the game actually loads, it reconnects as usual after hitting a button to wake it back up.

I also noticed that I was running with 249 for both loaders, which holds 56/v10beta53-alt. Should 250 (57/d2x-v10beta52) be more compatible?

Try to install d2x-v8 or d2x-v10beta52. Because v10beta53 is not recommended and you will have less compatibility with hard drives.

No, install d2x v10-beta52 as slot 249[56] instead of using v10-beta53. It also helps it you say what your games are stored on. Flash drives are notoriously flaky and not recommended and HDDs should have any encryption or power saving turned off with their management tools.

Hello,

Would not there be a little concern with the HBC, which according to the Syscheck report gives this ==>

SysCheck HDE v2.4.0 HacksDen Edition by JoostinOnline, Double_A, R2-D2199, and Nano
... runs on IOS58 (rev 6176).

Region: NTSC-U
System Menu 4.3U (v513)
Priiloader installed
Drive date: 05.26.2006
Homebrew Channel 1.1.2 running on IOS61

Is not it necessary to reinstall the HBC on the right IOS 58 ??

I missed that. It should be reinstalled so it picks up IOS58 but that shouldn't be causing black screens.

Reinstalled HBC on 58, installed d2x v10-beta52 as slot 249[56]. Played with a bunch more things for several hours, and every game launch would still hang. Moved on and tried to get neek2o to work for a couple days and ran into even more problems. Had a feeling it might be related to the flash drive, so swapped it to an SSD in an external enclosure. Everything just started working.

Thanks for taking a look and giving a sanity check.

I was also using priiloader to autolaunch USB Loader GX, which was very confusing when it still fully launched without an SD or USB drive attached. I guess I assumed it acted asa forwarder to an app directory, but it apparently injects the full binary? I wasn't totally sure which directory it was launching from which may not have caused direct problems, but it definitely added to the confusion.

There is a dol version of the forwarder you can use for Priiloader here. You can delete it from your SD/HDD after you install it if you don't want to leave it on the drive.
