Hacking eshop requires update now

Is anyone on 2.0.0 getting this message? Went to browse just notes and couldn't get to enter my password. Says it requires a system update. Currently blocking the update server via fidget, from that tutorial that was posted a few days ago.


::EDIT:: As @Mr. Wizard advised later in this thread, block http://beach.hac.lp1.eshop.nintendo.net:443 and it will work fine like before.

Didnt ask for an update.
I went to the japan eshop and us without any problems.
I havent check what fw im on but prertt sure its 2.0

Just checked my switch, was playing botw earlier and could access eshop no problem.. Now it gives me a nag to update and I couldn't start eshop.

I restarted my Switch and it seems to have cleared the nag for now. I can access eshop once again.

I will keep an eye on what server is pushing the the nag, if I find anything I will report back so we can block it.

Restarted and it worked, I think you need to start eshop before the switch has a chance to check the update server

Personally I hope Nintendo updates the eshop separately but has it coded so you need the most recent system software for it to work. I hope games work similar. Want a game breaking bug fixed. Fine you can have the game update but once you install it, the game won't run without the most recent system update as well. Screw the dirty pirates. They can't use region free as an excuse for wanting hacks for pirating anymore. Want emulators. Too bad, there are many other alternatives out there that do not require hacking and/or breaking the Switch's ToS.

They did patch pegaswitch, which is an exploit dev tool so I wouldn't update until you have to.
plus, nothing is changed on 2.1 other then the browser to patch pegaswitch.
