Just wondering if it's possible to play PS1 "backups", either from a flash drive, or a burnt DVD-R, with my PS2 that has FMCB. Now I don't want to do the swap trick because well I don't have a retail PS1 disc and I don't want to use a hard drive either. I was specifically looking to play Parappa the Rapper. Thanks! :P

So I tried launching the game as a .elf after doing all steps, then I get to a black screen, then it tells me to choose memory card, then I'm right back where I began in FMCB. =/

Some games just don't work; compatibility is lower in USB mode compared to HDD. Also, the file extensions and prefixes might be case sensitive. That might be related to the UlaunchELF I've been using.

I copy pasted file names and can you confirm parappa doesn't work?

Recovered my login info just to help out. Haven't been on in forever. But sounds like you have it figured out :D Sweet.

From the games i've tried pops has a pretty good /HI compatibility even from USB although some games will load at times then the next day they wont. And you will swear you were just playing it. Try removing the memory card etc. When loading the game it may or may not help. I've had issues with "Tobal #1" booting one day then not the next then trying again the third day and it working but found out if I try it enough it will eventually run. Just one game I had a minor issue with other than that it ran perfect. I love my phat ps2
