Why?, a "home" console you can take on the go, it makes sense to create a super portable switchNot the same thing.

The switch have voez which is only portable mode, it would be like the new3ds but backwards if they create an only docked mode console, besides the vita tv didn't go well on sales, because is Nintendo I think is possible but unlikely, probably they are going to release a switch xl and a new switchI'm talking about removing the screen.. IE the portability..
Could you rephrase that sentence? The switch have voez which is only portable mode, it would be like the new3ds but backwards if they create an only docked mode console, besides the vita tv didn't go well on sales, because is Nintendo I think is possible but unlikely, probably they are going to release a switch xl and a new switch
They could have a cheaper and weaker while having compatibility. It wouldn't work because of the compatibility on the base system on handheld mode, it would make sense to use a better chip like the tegra "x2", or use a better manufacturing process imo
3d was used by a good number of people too. It is the same thing. Some people plan to use the Switch as either a portable or home console only. You mean 3D? Which isn't used by a good number of people? Not the same thing.
Never said when it would release, but the 2ds release around two years after the 3DS. I feel like that price would be for a portable only version.Exactly like the 2DS. If the 2DS came out at the same time as the 3DS it would've cannibalized 3DS sales. Same with a Switch TV. I think it's very easy for Nintendo to stick the X1 inside a bare-bones vented console and throw in a single Pro controller, to give us a console they can sell for $150-$200 USD. But it would be suicide to launch it so soon after the portable.

The only way I see them doing a Switch XL version, is to increase the screen, but not the console. Don't see them making the console any bigger than it is.
Sorry my English isn't too good, in think is very unlikely Nintendo could release a home only switch in the future, a hardware revision with better specs I think is very possibleCould you rephrase that sentence?
I'd argue that offering a variety of options at a lower price might make something that a consumer would have to think about an impulse buy, especially if they're only planning on using it at home or on the go, and not bothRegardless, 3D is a gimmick. Always has been. What the Switch offers is something else. To plan on stripping that away just doesn't fit.

I agree. It could even be the same price as the current product if they could advertize "NOW WITH THE TIGRA X2, CONSISTENTLY HITS 1080p 60FPS!!!"I guess time will tell. If the software is there, making a home console variant actually may make sense.. As long as they don't alienate those who want the portable options.. By making it more powerful.
How? I haven't seen a console revision which is weaker than its predecessorThey could have a cheaper and weaker while having compatibility.
They just revealed the new Shield TV recently, so they slightly changed the shape and a few other minor things and are re-using the same SoC in that and in Switch.Nvidia may be selling the Shield at cost to avoid a writedown. The Shield never took off, so Nvidia might be sitting on excess stock and have yet to make back what they paid developing and manufacturing them.
This is possible for minor revisions, but I wouldn't expect anything major for 3-4 years. The hardware is as powerful as it gets for this form factor right now.
besides the vita tv didn't go well on sales
Eh, the foam and dock I can understand. I doubt they'll change the size or the screen any time soon, though. If it were any smaller it'd have to use a different SoC, any larger and it would no longer work so well as a portable. You'd have to be trying hard to break the screen, the console is designed in such a way that the joy cons take all the impact from drops and protect it.A minor revision is all I'd want. Something like the foam pre-installed in the joy-con, smaller/bigger model, better screen (hoping they'd use something along the lines of gorilla glass), less flimsy dock, etc.
It's something they could do, but I doubt Nintendo will see the need for it. It'd only save the customer like $50, and they could just wait for a price drop instead.I'm all for a bare bones consolized switch I play docked with a pro controller 99.9% of the time anyway.
