is there a way to get "Elevator Action Return" and "Mystic Warriors" to work on NES Classic?
have them both on mine running great (mame2003); they are awesome games to have , also its nice to see the 300mb limit change to 337mb(approx) on mine anyway;?new 2.15 default limit?

If anyone CAN'T use HAKCHI to delete anything inside NES mini, he/she MUST use my method to manually delete them.
My method is a force-deletion - You CAN'T recover anything deleted by my method.

Are you sure Elevator Action Returns is running great? When I tried it, it felt quite slow
Where did you get your core from?

How does this work exactly? I'm still using 2.14 at the moment. Is there something you need to do in 2.15 that frees up the extra space?

Explain please?
@BCT182 wants to delete a file inside NES mini which Hakchi cannot delete.
So I introduce that method.

Is my English weird?
Or is the method too complicated to understand?

If my English is weird, then I'm sorry I have no better explanation unless you can read Chinese and I explain it in Chinese again.

Oh, I didn't have anything specific I wanted to delete. I was just curious if your hard delete method could be used to delete demo mode or something. My thought was to free up some space. Unless someone could walk me through it I wouldn't know how to start anyhow.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also I'm convinced even if you uncheck the original 30 games they stay on the system somehow. As I said earlier The other day I connected the NES to my laptop while the HDMI cable was still plugged in. I interrupted a game he was playing and instead of the screen going black and displaying "hakchi" it went to the main menu and it was the original menu with all the original games. How could it default back to the files if they are supposed to be unchecked and removed?

Theoretically it can be used to delete something pre-installed you don't want to have.
But I don't know whether those files you want to delete link to any other file or not.
If they did link to any other file, then delete them may cause unknown error.

Personally I only use that method to import/delete DOSBOX games
- Hakchi only load .exe files to temporary working directory but to properly run the .exe files it requires loading all the other non-exe files to temporary working directory either.
That's why I should manually import files into NES mini.
And I just thought the files you want to delete was the same as what I imported - they can't be properly removed by mounting game or deleting via Hakchi, which occupies the NAND space.

But to be noticed that if the file you want to delete is a system file, please use linux command to backup it before deleting.

For the error happened after an interruption, you can try reflashing custom kernel.

It has the probability to mess up anything, if the file he wants to delete is a system file.
Although you can use some Linux commands to backup the entire stuff to your PC, it take too many operations & times.

Hi!

After updating to 2.15 and installing the latest pcm720 hmods (retroarch, picodrive, etc) I've found that picodrive is not working for me anymore.

Genesis and sms games send me back to the menu. All other systems (nes, pce, snes) work. I've tried reinstalling all modules including picodrive and use_picodrive.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Picodrive is for Sega 32X games, I believe. I use genesis_gx for genesis and sms rom on my NESCE.

Picodrive supports sms, smd and sega32x. I was using it in 2.13 for all those systems (I didn't install genesis_gx) and worked perfectly.

I had to switch from genesis_gx to picodrive because the first one "crashed" when selecting shaders...

Thanks anyway for answering.

I gotcha. Sorry I hadn't messed with Picodrive on earlier versions of the retroarch. Only 0.7... But maybe if you rollback to an earlier version, you may get those games working again with Pico. The latest cores have been edited probably

When I updated to 2.15 my SNES and Genesis games would kick me out right away as well. I watched a youtube vid of someone else updated and jotted down these notes. When I redid everything the games all worked again (though there's is now a 5 second mandatory wait time before you can quit out and have save states appear)

- Install new Hakchi

- Copy over Config, Games, Custom folder images, dump

- Uninstall modules

- Flash original kernel

- Flash Custom Kernel

- Modules, install modules you want

- *note: Retroarch is mandatory

- Select what games you want to install

- Synchonize selected games

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
