Hello my fellow retrogamers! I've been using my NES Classic to livestream some, well, NES classics! Here's Panic Restaurant livestream full playthrough from yesterday. Basically my first time playing this game. Is there anyone else here who uploads retrogaming content to YouTube?

Does anyone experience intermittent issues with the save state "floating wing window" not showing up when exiting back to the NES Classic menu?

What seems to be happening is when I go back to the NES Classic too quickly after the game loads (either on first load when selecting the game or when loading a save state), I end up back at the menu but there is no "floating wing window" to save or to resume the game. This is reproducible pretty much all the time for various retroarch systems (NES, Super NES, Genesis). I've tried this experiment by loading the game, waiting 5-10s, then going back to the menu, and the "floating wing window" more consistently shows up.

I tested with the original 30 games, and the issue does not appear. This seems to indicate it is a retroarch-clover issue (new state zipping maybe?).

Background of my system:
- upgraded to 2.15 + the new retroarch clover (0.7) today and noticed the issue
- have 283MB of games uploaded
- previously, I've had 2.14b and the older retroarch clover for ~week, but i didn't really play/use it & had fewer games. I don't know whether this problem existed previously using the same steps above

Has anyone with 2.14b + older retroarch clover seen this? Or, does someone have the combination 2.15 + older retroarch and sees this?

Don't know if this is an real issue, or something just inherent with the retroarch-clover design.

This only happens for me on Retroarch enabled NES games, and SNES games. Games using the native emulator will not be affected (at least not in my case).

Yah, that's the same for me. I'll file a GitHub issue to track and for ClusterM to take a look/respond.

Well, I updated to 2.15 and my controller issue remained with the extension cord.

I am embarrassed to say I got out a flashlight and a magnifying glass and one of the prongs on the extension cable is bent and shoved down into the socket. Sorry to waste everyone's time.

On a positive note 2.15 seems to work beautifully.

I would like to add one game Marvel Vs Capcom so I got some work ahead of me since I have no idea where to start. (I'm new to this)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I like this icon, but it's not perfect. It was missing the white "16 BIT" across the top. So, I copied over the one from the Mega Drive icon. It's....better, but the "16 BIT" is the wrong colour. Could someone here who is better at this sort of thing, make the sort of tan/brown "16 BIT" white ? I tried, but it looked horrible.

The icon I need help with is in this link...

It's called New Folder Sega Genesis Layers 1
Thanks!!!!!:)

Would it be possible to save game (to use 1 of the 4 save slots each game have) with some button combination without leaving the actual game?

So the SNES 2010 issue has been fixed by compressing the save states? Can anyone tell me what the filesizes are now with the new version?

I get some questions about it so i share it here. If you like to use hmod folder structure with Hakchi you can just use any .hmod file and repack it as a folder. Open the .hmod file with 7zip, unpack the file and you will get a folder with the same name as the .hmod file, inside that folder there is a file, unzip that again and you will have the files, copy the files to a new folder with the same name as the .hmod file, done.

Couple questions:

  • So if I have been using SNES2010 all along, do I need to remove it and add back a newer version of the snes2010 core when upgrading to 2.15, or will the one I have previously installed have the compressed save state fix?
  • What size are the save states now?

I heard we're still supposed to limit the games to 30/40 games per folder. Is there any size limit to the folders themselves (I read that's no longer an issue)?

For example) If I have 20 SNES games in a folder (with 4 save state slots) and the size of that folder is 90MB, is that now OK?
No more MB limits, so it's ok but if you want 4 saves per game put only 30 games in each folder (there's the old limit of 244 images on the menu)

Yes, 2.14 works the same

I think you have to unistall older version and update with new 2010 core (probably the actual saves will be lost). Now the size of saves has been fixed

I have a part of my channel that I am trying out for 10 or so minutes every US released NES game in Alpha order. Just did Baseball Simulator 1.000 so got a long way to go :P

Thanks to cluster and everyone involved with this wonderful tool. I just got a nes classic not too long ago and started with 2.14b and now I'm on 2.15. Anyway, does anyone have a decent front image of the New Ghosbusters II box art? The image hakchi pulls up has a horizontal red line through it and that will drive me insane for some reason if I use it. :D

Just search on google yourself and find one and save it and paste it on your desktop. Then upload in hakchi by clicking browse instead of google.
