If you want to use the item box editor , then remember the format is X:Y~Z.

X = being the postion of the item in the box.
Y = being the vaule ID of the first item you want
Z = being the value ID of the last item you want

So the very first slot of the box is just 1 and the last slot is 2300. As i dont have the item list , i dont know the new id list for MHXX. But if you want most items then use the command 1:1~2300. This is ONLY if you have all 23 box pages open. If you only have 10, then use 1000. 14 would be 1400 and so on.

If you dont want your old items to be effect, then use the command 1401:1401~2300.

If your talking about the final boss then like most MH games, it should be at the very end before Account items. Should be somewhere around 1600 to 1750 i think. Just edit in items 1600 to 1750 , find out the place of the item you want then edit it in post restore. Also please dont go online with final boss armour when you havent even gotten to G Rank. Its not fair to other players.

The cheat coder pretty much just mass edits your save file. You use the a coder to generate the codes that edits the save. Here is a download link:

You don't open your save file. You select 4 items you want, the location of them in the itembox and it will generate a code you can paste in the updated MHXX editor that will give you the items. To make it easier, here is a translated version of the coder

This is for item box editing only , not equipment box. You can do it with the other editor that was posted. If you are having trouble, you can PM me your savefile and I can remove the equipment that you want.

How does this work tho?

The "Coder" basically makes hexadecimal values that mimic values of items in Monster Hunter. You just paste this value into the Japanese editor and from there it replaces the values with the ones you pasted them into. Its pretty much a Hex editor that's more simple to use and UI friendly for people who aren't familiar with binary editors.

For some reason when I delete the bugged piece of equipment from my item box... and then go to the 'equip set' option under equipment sets, the game crashes
None of the registered equipment sets I have, use the deleted item as part of a registered set.. any idea what the issue could be?

Does any of your equipment sets include DLC Armour/Weapons? They are the main culprit. Most DLC items will get replaced by there new ID counter which doesn't cause any big problems apart from turning into other items but it doesn't seem like its the same for the equipment sets which causes the crash.

The only fix so far is to delete those sets in MHGen and then transfer to MHX which you should then transfer to MHXX.
