hello can anyone help with a corrupted wuphaxbackup .i did the hack but when it backed up the channel it got corrupted windows manged to repair the disc and the file installed but the mii channel is just black screen ,have to pull plug on wii u to reset .its a unused wii u before i hacked it so no miis are saved for the sports games .my kids r driving me mad that they cant save it .ive tryed nus downloader but im getting a ticket error when i try to install wad .
thanks for any help given

is there a way to unistall the hack and update through nintendo and start all over again ?
It seams than nintendo usually leaves vWii alone when updating. That's why it's so important to make backups of all your IOS files before hacking

i did back it up but its corrupted but only that file on the sd card is corrupted .is there any other way to get the mii channel back ?

Install it from a wad, which you can download directly from Nintendo using NUSDownloader or rip from basically any Wii dvd/iso (yes, the version for real Wiis will work fine, in fact it's superior to the official Vwii one - it supports wiimote memory)

thanks

Great stuff. So, Mii channel .wad for Wii works on vWii?
Doe's any other channels have the same behaviour?

All official shop-distributed (00010001-*) apps are obviously safe (this includes virtual console, Opera channel, all the freeware wiiconnect24 channels - everybody votes, wii no ma, etc)
Wii forwarders as you probably know use a nandloader which is incompatible with Vwii, but the fact they won't work doesn't mean they're unsafe to install

DVD-installable channels (00010004-*) too: [Mario Kart and Wii fit]

System channels (00010002-*): Safe. These are: mii, shop, photo, weather, news and nothing else

Hidden channels (00010008-*): Probably safe but not worth it, there's nothing to gain from Wii versions unlike with the above categories

Operating system (00010000-*): these are WiiMenu, IOS, CIOS, Vwii drivers - well known to NOT be compatible. The exception is Bootmii IOS (but, without gamecube ports or a reset button, its GUI is unusable unless you just use Linux as payload)

Sorry, I have the same problem as ducki1986. When I get the wad from NUS it always gets an 1017 error. Or do you have to uninstall the MiiChannel first? Thanks for your help

You get the error when you try to download from NUS or when you try to install it through a wad manager? I was getting too an error when i was trying to install the mii channel wad. So i deleted first the mii channel (using a wad manager) and then i installed the wad file i downloaded from NUS. For me it worked only like this. Just make sure you have the right wad.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic.... Just so I completely understand - any official VC or WiiWare .wad that can install to a modded Wii with homebrew can be safely installed to a modded vWii with homebrew? I.e. No risk of vWii brick? Thanks.

Correct, if it doesn't bannerbrick a real Wii, it won't bannerbrick a Vwii

Then there is the issue of nandloader compatibility; but
1- it won't cause bricks anyway
2- only some homebrew channels (mainly forwarders) have nandloaders exclusive to one type of console (and now that the HBC, not suffering from this problem, is open source the forwarders could on paper be updated with an universal nandloader)

And finally, a channel that bannerbricks a Vwii can be deleted over FTP from WiiU mode :)

Thanks, uninstalling first solved the problem. Afterwards I used the wad I got from nus.

The Mii Channel is copywrited nintendo material it is against site rules to ask for it to be linked or sent by pm and it's also against site rules for someone to post links or pm it to you.

People are too lazy to download it from NUS using NUS Downloader, it seems.
