I got a new desktop at Christmas time and it's been working fine for me so far. I had a cheap microsd to usb converter that I used in the computer, and it died. I thought it was just because it was a cheap little thing that I got with a ds flashcart and that's why it died so early. Well I have a 16GB flash drive, and it just died when I plugged it into the computer. I plugged it in, the computer made the connected beep, followed quickly by the disconnected beep, and then by the connected beep again. This happened to the microsd adapter too, but it made those noises a bit faster, and made more of them. I had a laptop for a year before I got a desktop, and nothing had ever died in it. What's going on with my computer? Am I somehow plugging things in wrong? The ports are slanted upward at an angle, and I kinda hate them. My question is, why does this new computer keep killing things? Am I just unlucky? Or is something broken?

And to think I threw away the box a week ago because I thought it worked fine... Any idea which piece could be defective? That's just for my own curiousity. I'll have to send it back anyway if it's nothing I'm doing wrong.

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

I suppose only the motherboard that contains the USB3 ports.
If it was the 5V line from the PSU, I think a lot more things would be dead already, not just USB devices.

Ok, I left the 16GB flash drive plugged into my computer, and let it sit. I realized I left my AOMEI Partition Assistant tab open, and went to close it. It said my flash drive was there, and had no drive letter. After it failed to format on another computer, and flat out didn't work on mine, I didn't think AOMEI would get it to work. I tried anyway, and the flash drive is alive!
