We have seen a change last years in the way hackers release their work. I belive this begin with the game cube emulator for wii, I dont will record the bames now but the change was you had to create your backup from your original game. No more backup downloads.
Now we listen about hackers running ps4 backups but dont releasing this yet.
What is changed in the hackers ideology to these actions have place?

I think the piracy is something easy to understend, the possibility to play something too exoensive to play or from another side of the world for free. But it affects the marketing and the decisions of a console. I know have numbers saying otherway but it is only a thinking of me looking off another perspective.

Resident remake for wiiU. Metroid for wiiU. Do you think these games could be released if the console was nit already open fir piracy? Even with low console salles, if tgese titles came to light they cold sell a lot? Well, i think maybe nintendo didn't give up so soon of wiiU if the console was still untocable for backups.
Is to think, maybe the hackers should make enforts to firmware spofing and to homebrew. Then backup loaders could be released when consoles become middle age. If they could handle this etic code we could keep low firmewares and buy the games we most want to play and use emulators and homebrew.
I want backups too but I also worry about kill console generations because i know the companies want money and decide what to create and release based on than money.

Is something to think. You prefer a spoffer to can play ff15 today or a backup loader but shot ps4 lifetime one or two years?

The groups of "hackers" are different from in each project (save for a few maybe where you have people in multiple unrelated projects) so naturally they each have their own unique views on how it should be ran.

I agree. But the ps4 silence is working. Then a new ideology code could work too. There's a run to unlock new consoles. This run can continue into a closed way. The first to achieve can record and show to others without release until the console reach a point of maturity to worth it. They can release ways to keep low exploitable firmwares and run high firmeware games. Then the normal people choice between keep playing offline but new games or update to play online without future loaders.

I'm against piracy in a console that is still 'alive'. For example, I don't support piracy for 3DS, Vita, 360, Wii U, PS3, One and PS4, anything before that, I'm okay with it.
As long as games get released and the system is still being sold, I do my utmost to support the system, even if I end up having to order games from other regions. That way the devs will still get some of my money (I am talking about buying new from actual retailers, buying used is pointless and I only do it for old systems).

The Vita is officially dead, and even so, there's not many games worth playing/pirating... most are really scum. I can count five at most that I would like to play.

Anyway I'm in on the idea of piracy when the console is mid-life, but when would that time be? No one, except the brand owner can determine that. I'd say it would be better to "allow" piracy when there's a new console from them, so it's not being supported anymore by the brand owner. But again, the hackers are the one's that decide when and how they'll release their findings/hacks, we just have to wait and thank beforehand for their hard work.

The Vita is not officially dead.
I have several pre-orders for it, physical ones: Ys Origins (from asia), Ys VIII (the Limited Edition), Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (the limited edition).
And just last month I ordered SRW V on it's release day.

There are tons of games being released for the Vita, some even scheduled for 2018. While Sony doesn't really support the system, they still add games for the vita in the Plus subscription. Not to mention the sales of the digital store, several Bandai games even had more digital sales on the Vita than the PS3 counterpart.
Sony dropped the lowball on the Vita, but several devs still support it, and while that happens, the Vita is not dead.

If this isn't lack of official support, can't think of anything else alike. The brand owner of the Vita doesn't support it anymore so it is officially dead.

Third party content is being released as they don't want to follow the E.T. example from years ago.

They still have the multiplayer servers from the games they published, the only thing they really stopped doing, is develop games for the system. Honestly, I was never fond of Sony first party games so it makes no difference for me. While the games the system has, may not please a lot of people, games are still selling. They are still producing Vita's and they still sell them, well, the 2000 model that is.

I think there been drama going on lately with the PS4 scene especially with the mythical 4.50beta firmware a site claiming they got Linux running on it and most of the known reputable sites is like after their necks.

Often I see hackers tippy-toeing around piracy, only to pull their butts out when the kitchen gets hot. The solution to piracy is simple. People just want to play games. Give them what they want.

If people want to play games, they can buy the games, easy peasy. .-.

I'm speaking in regards to those that subtly support piracy and then pretend like they don't. The point that I'm making is that if it's such an issue to them, why not make the games instead?

Ah! Yeah, there is a lot of hypocrisy in this area. There are those who do not support it, then all of a sudden release a hack just for a minute of fame, and then there are those who do support it, but when shit hits the fan, run away from it.

I kind of agree with that. I never hacked my Wii U or 3DS, but I've hacked my vWii (yes i make the distinction) to play Wii and gamecube games I cannot find - but when the Wii games started coming to the eShop I delete my loaders for them and buy the game if i like it enough. I ahve a Gameboy micro that I have loaded up with all the GB/GBC/GBA games I want to play, and i stuck it onto my keychain so i always have it handy.

I'm perfectly happy buying a game if it's available for sale from the eShop (I bought most of my GBA games ont he Wii u but not many GBC games tho), but I don't see any reason to track down old physical copies that Nintendo already made their money on long ago.

I'm pretty sure that running backups on PS4 is limited to very rare and expensive activated devkit/debug consoles......
It doesn't work well, yet.
Success in bigger release-titles is very limited and only some smaller eshop titles actually run.
Patience is a virtue.

Same, I try to buy the DS games that I enjoyed and pirated when I was younger, and now I've mostly bought them all, but some are just too overpriced due to rarity nowadays. For the GBA I have the ezflash IV, even for the games that I do own, I simply put them in the flashcart, since gba games are too big. z.z

You sound like somebody who is in the know regarding status of PS4 backup loading....... Are there active efforts in progress to get decrypted PS4 games working on 1.76 consoles right now? :)
