I always get a glass screen protector, those don't scratch easily and if something scratch them it isn't the kind of scratches you would like to have on the real screen

I bought a tempered glass protector. Not from a "respectable" brand, at least not one I know, but I need some protection before the better ones come out, which is better than no protection. My only concern is how clearance is between the screen and the dock, and if that is large enough for a tempered glass protector.

I'll be passing on a screen protector. It'll only be me and other adults using it in handheld mode, I don't think the touchscreen is going to get much/any use, and the 3DS screen is tough as titanium. I'll have a case of course and it'll be secure in transit.

My 3ds xl had the top screen become scratched overtime, seemingly from the plastic around the bottom screen (the scratches matched the shape). That and the outer case becoming scratched as well caused me to start buying screen protectors and cases for my devices.

That should not be a problem at all. I recall someone stating there was at least 2-3mm clearance and even a 1mm glass protector would be extremely thick. They typically are between .3-.5mm according to Lifehacker.

Nah, not unless I find one that doesn't mess with the quality of the screen like all of the cheapo plastic protectors do.

I ordered the offical case. There is a screen protector included but I am not sure of I will really use it. Preordering another screen protector is just a big gamble. Most of the producers have not even touched a switch. Probably many of the protector won't fit properly.

I hardly ever put screen protectors on anything.
Plus, I bought 2 pro controllers and extra joy cons and extra charging grip.

It's never leaving the dock.

i stopped putting screen protectors since 3DS..i used to with the DS when it was still the latest handheld ..but with the Switch i might get one..its not cheap to replace the screen..besides i will mainly use it as a portable..i preordered the Mario case that came with a screen protector..

Ordered the Sheikah Eye case from Gamestop which comes with a plastic protector, but will only be temporary until I get a feel for which glass protectors are worth buying. Usually the same company manufactures them for a bunch of other resellers though, so in the end who/what you buy shouldn't impact quality that much.

I will but I won't until it is getting cheaper. Don't want to waste for this stupid screen protector screen for a costly. :)

If the surface is made of glass, I probably won't need one.

A lot depends on the environment the device will be operated in. Sand and grit can scratch glass so it makes sense for a phone in a pocket that can collect all kinds of debris. Less so for tablets. They may offer some impact protection but it is limited.

For those who like to game outside in more natural environs like a park or while camping it is probably a good idea.

amazon has a pack of 2 for $10 shipped to usa. The problem is the delivery date is between mar 4 and apr 20th

Another problem would be no international shipping, or at least to my country for my case. The china dudes on ebay do, so I'm counting on them. Besides, a pack of 2 would be around $3-$6 on ebay too, just gotta wait for a bit.
