after if flash the custom kernel the light just stays on, and it doesn't re connect to the pc

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and if i turn it off and turn it on, it just loads the old games that i had, very strange
That's exactly what I did. Same games as previous sync, with no changes. Still all games were playable and save states worked, and the folders were there as well.

Wait for bug fix I guess.

Does 2.13 have the ability to choose what emulator to run the games on....2.12 had a check box to select what games run in retroarch.....a check box that was added to execute with retroarch instead of default emulator on page 258

If not, can this be added in a later update

unbenannt-png.79100

i asked @Cluster about this. He said "I don't wont to bind hakchi2 for one emulator like RetroArch. It's optional mod. It's possible to create/add/modify mod to specify which games should run using RetroArch."

I'm sure someone will come along and make a mod that will do whats shown in your picture. Sadly, when @condiczek posted that program alteration, it caused issues that made me unable to sync my games to my NESC. I had to remove it back to vanilla 2.12 to get things working again.

You can use "--retroarch" in the global command line arguments field in settings that will do it anyways. And with @pcm720's recent mod, the fds games that I had issues with automatically run now with nestopia, which solved my issue so I don't see the need for that option you have circled in hakchi. But I can understand how others might find it useful.

For now, I'd say wait for a working mod to come out, or if you cant wait, use the global command line arguments field for all games, or use the command line arguments for only certain games. :)

Just copy new modules, agree to replace the old ones, then install as usual.
And by the way, 0.4-extra5 has the same retroarch.hmod as 0.4-extra (that's why it wasn't released as 0.5-extra in the first place). The only difference is addition of new modules such as Handy.

And if someone has an account on NeoGAF, tell them that instruction posted here is just plain wrong. Give them this link instead.

Sounds good thanks for clarifying..now for installing 2.13 hakchi how do I go about updating it without losing everything Ive done

When i have CRT filter active my roms that use nestopia dont work, they just take me back to the menu.

Nestopia crashes with scanline shader applied, so Cluster disabled it in 0.4:
Code:
if [ "$extension" == "fds" ] || [ "$extension" == "qd" ]; then
  core=nestopia
  crt=0
fi
You're having this issue because you're using an old version of RetroArch module.

Copy user_mods, games, config and dump folders from old Hakchi2 into a new one, that's all.

Did anyone else lose their menu music after syncing? I have no idea why it no longer plays the music. (I didn't run the music hack.
Edit: ** Okay I uninstalled the music hack module and the music came back. YAY

Hi, Is this the NES (FDS) version? Did you patch it with an english patch? - I've been trying to get this FDS to work. No luck yet (I haven't tried it with the latest Hackchi. But I have with pcm's latest retroarch) - I will try it again. I was just curious if it was the FDS, and if it was pure vs a patched version..

Thanks!

It's a translated FDS rom, with the lastest versions of both hakchi and retroarch mod. With the command line: --guest-overscan-dimensions 0,0,9,3 --initial-fadein-durations 10,2 --volume 75 --enable-crt-scanlines --fds-auto-disk-side-switch-on-keypress --retroarch

Anyone have luck with getting mapper 11 games working? Wisdom Tree for example? If so which core should be used?

I'm just reporting on something here, maybe it might help someone.

I had a bunch of 0.78 mame roms, they were in zip format, but hakchi kept saying 'can't access pacman.zip' or something. So I unzipped the archives, and used 7z to rezip them choosing the options: 'zip and store'. I really don't know why that would affect them, but it works.

Hurray, I can play donkey kong (arcade) now!

Some sound is missing tho, I wonder where I should put the samples folder. :P

Wow, I just tried playing: Ms. Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, Jr. using the Final Burn core. And it works. Neither of these games are normally on Final Burn.

The mame 2003 core takes up alot of space (I think it does anyways), I wonder if I can do without it. Very interesting.

I was thinking of the file size limit and was wondering if it was possible for hakchi2 2.14 to split large files (60Mb in to 4x15.Mb chuncks) copy them over one at a time then combined them . like how most torrent downloads work. or how 7zip dose it.
or copy part of the file each time we need to power off the system and go back in to FEL mode where copying lots of files , like when you pasue a download and resume it

Thank you for the info Gusi! I'll give it another shot!

It's not really worth worrying about anymore since full and direct access over USB will be a thing in later versions of Hakchi2. You'll be able to transfer anything then or browse the filesystem and edit things right off the NAND etc

I know that's coming but was the file size limit problem not going to be a consern eny more and what's the progress on getting OTG function ?

Any update on the possibility of compressing NES files and getting them to default to retroarch easily (without manualling inserting them into the "games" folder and manually editing the .desktop file)?

Can someone do a video test of Castlevania and Castlevania Legacy of Darkness roms on the n64 core? Are they playable or horribly lagged?

Can anyone help...I got some SNES and Sega games on my NES, but when I try to open the games, it just re-loads back to the game/folder menu. Am I missing a step, or did I do anything wrong? I am using v 2.13 and I have Retroarch installed on the system. Thanks for your help!

OK, so I decided to start this whole process over from scratch. To do this, I have to flash the original kernal, correct? The problem is that I have been creating multiple folders for each new hakchi release. So I would first need to copy the oldest kernal image I have and paste it into the dump folder of my hakchi version 12 folder and delete the more recent kernal image that is already there?

Can you provide more detail? For each of the games or even just one of them, can you copy the Arguments location? just in case something might be missing there. Also which version of RetroArch release are you using? Depends on how you install the module. If could be that the module is not installed so the argument may not function.

I got a question:

I'm trying to get a mame (pacman) game to launch from the front list. I put in a nice pacman cabinet image, and I put this in the command line:

/bin/zip /usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi/CLV-Z-XPCQD/pacman.zip

Anything I'm doing wrong here? It isn't launching. There is no core selected in retroarch, and if I select a core, and exit, it still won't launch it. Any tips? :)

Edit: I have the wrong pac-man romset for 0.78. My ms. pacman, dk, etc. work. I'll have to tinker a bit.
Edit again: merged data from puckman to pacman, and it launched, without puckman in the roms directory (on pc). Now I'm ready to try again. :P

I looked at another example:
/bin/gba /usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi/CLV-A-WJPGX/Pac-Man_Collection.gba

So instead of 'gba' what do I put in for mame?
