Install ARK-bubble on FW 3.60+

Just copying my guide I made on reddit:

Thanks to the new psvimgtools, we can edit our CMA backups. This allows for installation of homebrew bubbles using the pboot trick on FW 3.60+.

This is a short guide on how to install an ARK bubble using the pboot trick on FW 3.60+ using the psvimgtools.

Needed files:
psvimgtools - https://github.com/yifanlu/psvimgtools/releases

ARK pboot bubble for Vita 3.60 - http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=47678

1. Get your PSN AID. This is the 16-hex code found in your CMA backup folder path.

To quote Yifan:"For example, if I wish to decrypt PS Vita/PGAME/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/NPJH00053/game/game.psvimg then my AID is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

2. You can now use this site: http://cma.henkaku.xyz/ to get your KEY. Thanks Davee!

3. Download and extract the psvimgtools for your OS. We will need to use the command line/terminal for these next steps.

4. Backup a PSP game from your Vita to your computer using qCMA.

5. Find the PSP game backup in the folder: PS Vita/PGAME/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/[GAMEID]/game/game.psvimg. Copy this file to your psvimgtools folder.

6. Run "psvimg-extract -K YOUR-KEY game.psvimg game". You will get a folder named ux0_pspemu_temp_game_PSP_GAME_GAMEID.

7. Extract the ARK pboot bubble archive and find the PBOOT.PBP. Use this PBOOT.PBP to overwrite the one in your output_folder which you just generated using psvimg-extract.

8. Run "psvimg-create -n game -K YOUR-KEY game game". You will get "game.psvimg" and "game.psvmd" in your game folder. Use these to overwrite the ones in your CMA backup folder.

9. Restore the backup from your PC to your Vita using Qcma.

10. Copy ARK_01234 from the ARK pboot bubble archive to PS Vita/PSAVEGAME/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/

11. Restore the ARK-2 PSP SAVEDATA from your PC to your Vita using Qcma.

12. Say thanks to yifan.lu, xyz, Proxima, qwikrazor87 and Davee for this neat trick.

EDIT: Updated the guide. Thanks for feedback.

I think there is an error in the point 5, regarding the syntax for psvimg-keyfind: the number of cores "n" must be written without "-", so instead of "psvimg-keyfind -n partials.bin" it has to be "psvimg-keyfind n partials.bin".
In my case writing "psvimg-keyfind -4 partials.bin" throws an exception, while writing "psvimg-keyfind 4 partials.bin" works perfectly

Great news for 3.61 and 3.63 users, who will now be able to enjoy ARK, whitelist hacks and so on without needing to share PSN details with possibly sketchy individuals.
You still need someone to help you dump your partials file though. Fortunately your AID is much less sensitive than PSN login details, and it's a lot less work for the HENkaku'd user.
I'm happy to help interested users obtain their partials file so they can start backup hacking.

Sooo, if I understand correctly, I can run patched PSP games (like undub or translation) with that on my 3.63 ? And you only need to use an Henkaku vita once ? So if someone dump for me the partials.bin file, I can use ARK without any help after that ?

It seems pretty awesome ! What are the other possibilitiess and downside ? I don't know a lot about Ark ^^"

Edit : another question, will it work with a psp game I got on ps+ ?

You can do most things that you can do on PSP CFW. Emulators and crap. PS1 works but there's no sound.

If you can start the base PSP game on your Vita, it will work.

Woaw, this is really great ! I had to update my console and lose Henkaku to play some game, but this will resolve one of my issue with that (psp game).

If someone can generate my partials.bin it would be cool (by mp of couse ^^)

Like I said just a few posts earlier, I'm happy to generate the partials files.

On another note, this just happened.

Ahah well that was fast ! I'll use that ! Thanks for this tuto, gonna try it now. yifan.lu, xyz, Proxima, qwikrazor8 Are really Awesome too :D

EDIT : Mmmh seem's like it doesn't work for me. I don't have any PBOOT.pbp in the extracted game folder, just an eboot.pbp( and three other file : __sce_ebootpbp, DOCUMENT.DAT and VITA_PATH.TXT). I tried to replace it (by renaming pboot to eboot) with the pboot for ark, but then it won't transfert back to my vita (error while transfering C2-12858-4).

In that case just add PBOOT.PBP to the folder :) Leave the original EBOOT.BIN be and don't bully him too much.

i don't know what went wrong, but i followed the instructions here(seemingly succesfully), but when i went back to the main menu i don't have the ark bubble. in fact i don't have the bubble for the game i used either (loco roco midnight*whatever* demo). is it possible i can't use a demo for this, or am i missing something?

Edit: i guess if it helps i should say that i'm on 3.63, but i assumed this would work regardless of that(at least that's what i had been led to believe by some other threads)

it is showing as installed in the content manager, but i don't have any bubble for it.

I just use a demo for it (ape quest) so it must work. what was the structure of the extracted game ?

NPUG80318/game/game.psvimg
NPUG80318/game/game.psvmd

for the two replaced files, and i assume since i didn't touch anything else the other two folders "license" and "sce_sys" aren't important?

I was talking about the file you got after extractinf game.psvimg (that part ". Run "psvimg-extract -K YOUR-KEY game.psvimg game". You will get a folder named ux0_pspemu_temp_game_PSP_GAME_GAMEID." ). i'm on 3.63 so it should work
